I know the setup... theoretically what you say should work... but the hydrans have only one ally, in testing on the stock map I got Klingon AI allies as a hydran... this was an "executive decision" on my part... because I could envision a situation of the gfz map where you are closer to Klingon bases than ISC bases and end up with klingon AI allies and no DV shift...
It may not be necessary once we put the gfz map back in... its a preventative measure at this point... I had the time to do it now and there should be little to no effect on gameplay anyway. (just need to test drafting allies)

No idea... something to do with Hydrans? (I think if you read the background above it may explain it).

I read that a few days ago, and "The Gas Wars has begun" line at the end of the story made sense. Oxygen vs. Methane. "Gas Free" I was less sure of. I haven't had a chance to see the map yet. Are there lots of asteroids and few planets? It doesn't matter. I like the name. I was just curious how it played into the story. -S'Cipio

Pre-story was there were 2 extremely suitable habitable planets in the neutral zone (still are afaik) one Methane and one Oxygen. Threats of atmospheric methane and oxygen bombs were traded back and forth till a neutral zone was setup to prevent both empires from coming into contact with the other. Something like that Nail was working on a full story...

I know the setup... theoretically what you say should work... but the hydrans have only one ally, in testing on the stock map I got Klingon AI allies as a hydran... I'm just trying to help here... Dont want to get in the way, but I'm concerned from 2x standpoints, technical curiosity and to make sure the map I helped Nail on works. So what yu are telling me is you used a stock map and got klink allies? Well doh, their nearest allies are miles away. On the GFZ map, there are ISC bases and Planets in hydran space. TRhe missions should be fine...? But do not total war missions strictly limit AI helpers to the draft race? Noi cross racial allies? If that's so, there wont be any mixture of Pirate and Empire ships. I think... FYI only here. But you already knew that. Oh, and we are talking about the right maps? Stock is stock and then there was one Nail did where I only saw 4 races on the map and then there was the GFZ map that I saw last night that had ISC hexes in Hydran space, which should be the correct map sans terrain atp...

Not considered interference at all...
Yes, all of that considered (ISC other side of map...) stock map being used now is middlemap.mvm... I did not have a copy of the gfz map to test on...
If you have it and want to send it to me we can go back to non-tw missions and see what happens if a hydran goes into klink territory... it would be better to use non-tw missions... but send it quick (the map)... not a big deal to test it out I can do it pretty quick...

Thanks, map received; server reset to non-tw on the gfz map, installer and posted serverkit updated. Let's see what we get... hopefully the non-tw missions will be ok - they'd be better... (thankfully, the installer is only 1.6MB so its not a big deal to update for testing...).

Ok, just ran a Kar_jpatrol (non-tw) as a hydran in klingon territory on the gfz map, got a C-PR3 as an AI ally (from the ISC slot I assume, he was actaully some help, lol), won the mission and the DV shifted the right way... so at first glance it looks ok on non-tw missions.

Who is the Lyran RM for this Server? Why only 3-4 people play in the test server? Come on sfcwizzards we r getting rusty here!!

I think its due for a Sunday start... not really expecting a big crowd for a fun server... Looks good technicallly... be nice to get some coop tests of the EEK missions in before tomorrow... so if we have to pull them its not mid server... (mission testing notes: have a good connection and no software firewalls, be aware of the client missionlist panel update bug, do not forfeit, leave the hex to force your map to update, watch for non-allied "allies"... you must duplicate any observed bug... once does not count... etc...) Interest-wise I think it might pick up when people realise that this campaign has pirates that can warp double in empire slots... real pirates on the empire layer! Webmap here: The Gas Free Zone WebmapNail has yet to add terrain to the map, (should be ready for tomorrow) and I have planet and base display disabled on the webmap till Nail lets me know if he wants either on...

Fun server???U mean SG4 wasnt a fun server? Now if u mean its gonna be free to take what ever ship u want or it wont have any VC s ,i think the server description says the opposite. I m new here and i propably dont know all things but could anyone tell me 1 reason why should GFZ server have less crowd from GW5? hmmm btw considering the GW5 will have only feds , gorn, rom its a good chance here for the hydran/lyran funs.

You will see the numbers pick up when the server goes live, not everyone tests the server beforehand, though they should really heh.
Some servers are considered fun and som are known as "major campaigns",its hard to define what is fun or major some people only used to fly sfc2.net/ CW series and didnt fly some of fun short term servers.
Perhaps someone else can define whats the differences between a fun/major server, though it is hard to define.. more so now than in comparison to the past...

Going on the basis of the information at the begining of the thread, you need to ask for access at www.bozobits.com/forumsfor the following forums: Coalition Lyrans click on usergroups and select join a group for those groups and the moderators should get back to you. p.s: hmm i have the feeling i know u Grim. Were u the rank12 of KBF in the last WGL campaign?
nope i dont fly league so it wasnt me, almost flew in a league in 2002 but it wasnt 'my cup of tea', havent looked into it since.

There was a guy with a name similar, but it was not Grim. For KWP it was Nobby. KWG had Becca, B'ellana, and Karnage mostly. For KOL it was XCMer, Krownyelf and Semajelf. KHH had a team in there as well, lead by Devil, with I think Jackle and Shadowlord, but not sure if those 2 were there back then. we also had the lone Mirak Pirate-DOA. I would have to see if I can find any notes from back then for more names.

Ummm, Nail...the mission matching seems a little...extreme. I ran a patrol (don't know which, sorry, it just said Patrol) in a CC, had a C-SAL2 (whatever that is) for AI help and had not one but two H-REG dn's to fight! Something seems a little off. Just thought I'd let ya know.
