Microsoft has issued a beta version of a new illustration, painting and graphics application program code named Acrylic. The news was first announced by CNET, which says the software is based on graphics application Expression, which Microsoft acquired with its purchase of Hong Kong-based company Creature House. Acrylic will only be available on the Windows platform, despite Expression being available for Apple Macs before the purchase

It's available for download (Beta Version) here: http://www.microsoft.com/products/expression/

That is a nice find but I already have Photoshop/Premiere Elements.  I'm not loading my system down with stuff I don't think I'll use.  Besides, Microsoft needs some competition if the PC industry is ever going to continue in a way that benefits the customers.

Still +1 for the find.

I think I posted a link to this in H&S a few days ago and Ron gave it whirl. Said it needed more before it could hope to compete with PS.

Now that Adobe owns Macromedia Im waiting to see what there next suite of programes will be like.  It sounds like MS have jumped onto a bandwagon that is moving very fast, maybe this could result in a nasty fall and some bumps and brusies for Mr.G?

Anyone remember Intels venture into art progs?  Satori is now produced independantly of Intel, not a good idea trying to make art progs when all you know is chips!
