Thanks to all you guys I tried it out and its great!!!!! I can actually play the game and enjoy it.

But where are the cardasians and species 8472 at?

Thanks I have played Klingon and Rom until I made Admiral and haven't seen any yet.
The closest was an assilimated Galor. This is a really nice MOD.

It is really outstanding!!!!!

The game was a hunk of Targ poo, before this, I gave up on it a year ago. And this MOD makes it a really excellent game!!

I'm impressed, and thats not easy to do.

The Cardies and Species are not written into the single player missions so they will not appear. They appear in the multiplayer dynaverse alot and way hard to beat! Hehe No one I know fights them 1 on 1. Check out the public dyns the GFL has up you'll like it!

Its an Exelent MOD for 3 It give you more ship classes, and it makes the single player and more challenging.
It should have come out of the box like this.

Give it a try Indy you will like it.

I downloaded it and I can't tell if it is loaded or not. The main difference I see is the ships have labels. For instance, the Sabre's ship diagram says "Federation Sabre".

Is there anything else I should look for?

OH YA! The renaming of the ships is a mere tip of the iceberg. if I may be permitted a bit of creators conciet this is by far the most balanced version of the game. We spent 8 months, 40 hours a week, doing nothing but flying missions and testing settings. Every ship has a match in each of the other three races. The challenge is figure out which one it is! We have changed most of the common settings which include the weapons, shields, armor and mass components. There are over 100 ships now. There is a frigate carrier with 2 very mean fighters! We have done some graphics changes plus revamped or repaired all of the break models so they look right. Starbase and planet assaults are all but impossible! Hehe AI on max setting will mop the floor with you. Cardy and Species AI will make you wanna cry! Rumor has it no one has completed the romulan single player yet. We replaced heavy plasma with a plasma topredo that actually works.And much much more.The thing to remember is that this MOD is a remake of the original therefore some time will be needed learning to fly these ships..... I promise you it will be time well spent!

I am sorry I did not answer that most important part of your question lol. You need to turn the MOD on. Noramlly there would be two swicthes on your desktop that turns it on and off but the latest build corrupted the switches. To fix this you need to go into your SFC III folder and make shortcuts to the exec files called "Original to mod" (on) and "Mod to original"(off). If you like you can use the gfl logos for Icons for these switches, they are located in the SFC III folder. Executing the "Original to MOD" Will turn the mod on. You will be able to view all the new ships in either the library or the sinngle player skirmish mode under select ships.

I am still having problems. I tried clicking on the icons in the SFC3 and it does not appear to work or do anything. I added a shortcut and it has not changed. The shipyard is unchanged.

Do you have any other suggestions.

yup you need to double click the .bat file that says"Original to mod". This file is in the SFC III folder.

That is a very cool mod! I have noticed that base and planet assaults are almost impossible to win. Do you have any suggestions on how to win them?

yup they will not fire on you if you stay at or above rng 60. With legendary officers you can fire from there. It takes a while but you can kill em. You will definately need a DN or better. Some folks send ai in as a distraction then warp in nail the plats and warp out. This has varing results.

Its pretty much like the instrutins I PMed you.

The way the officers train up is one of my favorite features of this game. It makes your ship performance go thru the roof.

As CO of the GFL Mod Group I would like you guys to try our dynaverse. I am rebuilduing the installer so the switches work properly. I would like the gaming group to try us out. They talk of balancing ubering bad game in general. If they give this a whirl I know without a doubt its better than sfc2 and op. Granted we cant fix some of the issues with dynaverse but we have achieved a very stable dyna that runs with I repeat not one rollback or database crashes successfully for 5 months. And yes our ships are not super like some but balanced thats what the game needed. I will check on adding cardassians into the singleplayer game it can be done.
