Wow, would I like to get my hands on that. And its not technically Halo. It's a Forerunner Fortress World... (if that is what I think it is...) which is why we can say its a planet because Guilty Spark identified it as such. Halo is a terran nick.

I'd LOVE to use that in a special scenario... Has anyone modeled any Covenant cruisers? Whoo!

you could effectively get the textures for it right out of halo too if you were lucky :D (PC version...)

and i think there is a covvie cruiser on battleclinic somewhere...
Alternate universe:  Khan was banished for preserving the peace. The Genesis device was really a super weapon and kirk had planned to use it on the klingons. Chekov found the Botany Bay and khan hijakced and killed the evil reliant crew in an effort to destroy the genesis device.    Ahh i love it :D The alternate universe rocks.

This is going to be awsome, i do have a question about its release.
are you going to scale it so you can fly a ship between the ring and planet when you go into orbit?

U do that in the model.size in the models folder.

edit: what will be interesting tho is how the game engine will treat the boundries in terms of when or where there will be a ship collision from hitting the ring... I wonder how that will work.

Heh, before I read the text I said HALO!.
I was gonna try to trip him up and say RingWolrd also. (Since that came like 2 decades before Halo)

Are you going to do the UNC ships and Covenant later on?

Not sure how it works in OP, but in SFC3, at least for ships, there's the hit profile.  That's written into the specs for the ship.  It determines how easy or hard it is for you to get hit.  If you take a ship with a small hit profile against a ship with a larger hit profile, the larger ship will have a harder time hitting the smaller ship, but the smaller ship will be able to hit the larger ship more often, but with weaker weapons.  And F_W is correct, the planet size is hard coded into the game.  The boundaries are unchangable.  We were able to get working docks in SFC.
The pen is truly mightier than the sword.  And considerably easier to write with.
