Grrr, guess I'm gonna have to check their forums out now you got me all curious and such.  ;D

But how LOW is the limit? If we're talking BOTF low then that would be a shame.

And smiley, (jaw drops) expect a PM!  :D

I dunno what botf is. But in their game engine, one might encounter 100+ capital ships duking it out. So our model ports to them would have to be around a factor of 5 to 10 less than the polys they have now.

BOTF = Birth of the Federation.

Star Trek game, fairly low poly models.  Darkdrone ported over a lot of them a good while back..

If over 100 units are on screen at once with todays graphic engine standards i can see why the models will need to be low poly. Then the old Homeworld models would fit right in, because they were built to have alot of ships on screen at once. I would say average count would need to be 1000-1500 polys with the largest model not exceding over 2000-2500. I'm also assuming the game uses alot of lodding? I dont have that game so i really dont know what its engine can, or cant handle. The limits i said above are what we used for the SoA mod for Homeworld. If they are porting SoA models directly then 99% of the work is already done because most of them have lods.

Can someone post some screens of our ships in this mod?
