[wip] A starship called... Bob?
« on: February 23, 2007, 03:34:14 pm »

No its not quite done yet. trying to make it look "pre-ambassador era" type of a ship.
And why do I call it Bob you may ask? -Have no idea, I made that model in 2003 while propably being high, drunk, drugged or all of the above.
Found it only recently and decided that I should finish it up, it was about 80% done when I found it. only done some minor adjustments.

I feel like Indiana f*cking Jones (instead of arrows, we got virii and viruses) while I dig through my old archives and dusty cds... it is only a question of time when some goddamn largeish stone is going to start rolling down behind me, descenting down a narrow path of folders.

There is already a Starship called Bob, from "Tripping the Rift". Sorry, but no one can replace Bobcat's voice...  ;D

USS Bob is a very nice, clean design, but if you're looking to make him pre-Ambassador, you need to do Excelsior-style nacelles. I see Bob as an Ambassador-era cruiser with those engines.

Looks good, though.

I would add a small impulse drive to the neck, maybe have the manifold slightly cruved to match the contour, that way you can satisfy the saucer-separation obsessive crowd, and model on the phaserbanks if the poly aint to high already. Otherwise it's got a clean design, and I like the deflector dish. Always thought the ambassador class failed in the deflector portion of the design, it's only saving being the fact that I like them round.
