Ok i thought it might be best to start a new thread for this.
Tell me what you guys want
ie What Hull, Saucer, Nacelles, Neck, Pylons, Impulse Engines, ECT ECT
Remember only parts from WZ ships. And please flood me with your ideas

arizona saucer and nacelles for sure. But none of the curved pylons.

Curved pylons... definatly need those... if they is straight then they look like every other ship ever made, and that we can't have... plus lets break with form a bit here and do something *gasp* different... so definatly curved

Thanx to those who have commented, although i am surprised it was so few...
Well anyway. i remember someone mentioning the Midway Class Hull in the other thread, i came up with this:

parts are as follows, (Note. I tried not to adjust the scale of the parts so instead of scaling 1 secion up i scaled both so the parts met half way.)
Midway Hull, scaled up by 5%
Carolina Saucer and Nacelles, scaled down by 5%
Modified Warlock Pykons, (i figured as they are just pylons it wouldnt matter about scale issues)

What do you guys think
Please give some feedback, as you know im not doing this just for me.


(ATTN Alec if your able my mesh has some errors that need fixing, if you have the time. (Where the hull meets the saucer) should everyone be happy with the design)

Tus, i hope those pylons are curved enough for you :P

Pretty nice work definitley on to something here
 I'd Suggest getting rid of the control tower she's supposed to be a battleship not a carrier.
Also get rid of the front top Shuttle bay doors 4 large doors up there are plenty for a BB
 One thing I'd do is scale up the primary hull Bridge section lets giver her a bridge that is 2 to 3 times the size of a connie bridge so it houses the bridge and fleet command and control areas Great work so far possible to get a scaled comparison to a connie ?

Thats a great shot at least now we can see that she is missing a primary hull bridge area. This is where you might have to enlist the aid of WZ for the more complicated mesh alterations. Actually does WZ have any Bridge parts that you use? a scaled up Federation Class Dreadnought bridge would very nifty. The scale looks bang on for a BB
I'd just make sure that the Saucer edge thickness matches the Constitution class saucer edge thickness that means 2 decks at least in the main portion of the saucer  ;D  Keep up the great work  :dance:

I still have a feeling that the point made in the other thread was missed.
The Zues needs to not be a kitbash, in my opinion. Keep the same configuration (that is, double-secondary hull with a saucer and four nacelles), sure, but it needs to be a whole new design.

I know its going away from the point, but my logic for using the midway hull apart from remembering someone mentioned it, was that i consider it to be a semi dual hull (the connie like lower rear been the second)

and this is just a WIP still im willing to change the model, and a kitbash is atleast a guideline for a more talented modeler like yourself to work from. that and if this design iis liked i wouldnt mind renaming it and starting again.


Bernard, i will take a look at WZ's models and come up with some ideas for bridges (thats if you would like this as maybe another release if the design changes), i could even bash one up to create a totally unique new bridge, your welcome to come up with ideas aswell and i will make them up for you, might come in handy f you want a new bridge for a custom design.

the way i see this project is a way to learn how to bash better so you know, take advantage of it :P

Alec, i know the feeling im just wrapping up doing up my 5 bedroom house, the kitchen alone needed to have everything including electrics, plumbing, walls, ceiling, not to mention having the units and counter top replaced. Boiler getting repaired.
bedrooms needing to be re plastered. ive still got 2 rooms to go not to mention the hallway. i swear real life is why too complicated.

You might want to cheak your PM's though sent you the link to the file.

Bernard, while Alec fixes the issues with this model. hows about we get started on the bridge?

Sounds like a plan FW I was thinking about an enlarged TMP dreadnought Bridge but I also have some bridges draw on my TreknoGraphx Site I just don't access it from work at the moment. one was a bridge that I wanted to use on the Ingram class
space control ship.  I also drew schematics for Atolm NCA bridge which is a different shape.

Actually, pulled the conning tower this morning.. haven't touched the shuttlebay as of yet.

Did that right after I converted it over to .MOD..

hmmm Alec, thats an interesting idea that that pic gives me.
Its traditional in fed designs for the bridge to be on deck 1

therefore it wouldnt be on the saucer because its obviously not deck 1. So hows about placing a large bridge where the conning tower was?

what do people think of this idea.

And does anyone want a new design to be made for the Zeus, or are you happy with this?

hmmm no. simple as. The internal components would be made to match the hull and the designers plan. Hence the idea with breaking from Tradition of having a bridge on the saucer. if a Midway can have a conning tower aswell as a bridge. Why cant the Zeus have a completely different placement of bridge.

That would mean the ship has 8 warp engines since those nacelles are dual-engined...

Besides, size does not automatically require more nacelles. That's a mistake a lot of ship designers tend to make and it ultimately does nothing for the aesthetics.
