The Klingon Barge.
-----------------------------------------------
Barges are used to tranport pods and containers of produce, equipment and raw materials between locations.

The Klingon Barge is an improved version of the Slow Barge and is intended for long haul voyages between more remotely spaced star systems.

The third engine was added in an effort to improve on the abismal sublight Impulse speeds of the Slow Barge by improving on the apparent mass reducing Subspace Field around the vessel when laiden. However, little improvement was gained by this, as adding a thrid engine also increased the vessel's mass. Warp speed is improved to Warp 4 )64c) unlaiden, Warp 3 (27c) with one pod and Warp 2.5 (15c) with two pods attached.

Also operated by some Lyran clans in a similar role.

Most civilian Barges are operated by owner captains.

Due to the slightly improved performance, a few Barges are also operated by the Klingon Navy and Internal Security Force (ISF) for logistics purposes only. Usually this was for the deployment of pods to and from depots for use by Naval Tugs, such as the N6 and N7. In this way, Naval Tugs could spend more time in frontline action and less time moving to the rear to change or pick up pods.

Naval Barges are incapable of operating as Tugs and should not be regarded as a cheap alternative. Their armament, shielding and power yields make them slow moving targets to any enemy warship that happens upon them.

NOTE: You must have at least one stock SFC game ship in human player squadrons to use this ship in multiplayer games. However, AI player squadrons are not bound by this restiction/problem and can have all three ships as K-BRG if desired.

This ship has been put under the Klingon F for Freighters part of the SFBSPC13.TXT, so that it can be called up for use in scripts using the FMSE (Fleet Model Script Editor) software add on by Eagle Eye Software. If you want to actually be able to select this ship, in normal SFC select ships, you will have to move it into the FF, CL, CA or DN part of the listing.

Steps to install:
-----------------
(1) Unpack zipped file.

(2) Move the model folder to Starfleet Comamnd/Assets/Models folder. If you're smart enough to have all the races in seperate folders then place this ship in the Federation folder.

(3) Copy the Shiplist fragment and paste it into the Federation FF part of your Shiplist file in Starfleet Command/Assets/Specs/Sfbspc13.txt

(4) Modify the model folder references to suit your own SFC models directory structure.

Note: That to use these ships in a game you'll need to have at least one stock ship or station flying wingman with it otherwise the game will crash.
