The Klingon Commercial Tug.
-----------------------------------------------
The Klingon Commercial Tug (K-CT) is no more than a Free Trader (K-FT) equiped with a Pod Coupling Point, complete with Mech Link, under the spine between the wings. This modification is a third party adaptation and is not snactioned by the original manfacturers of the K-FT hull used to create the K-CT.

The Pod Coupling Point is attached to where the Mercurite Drone Missile Launcher lives on a K-FT and so this is removed on the K-CT, which is not that popular and idea with Captains or Crews who operate the vessels.

Although able to couple up with the various large pods found inside the Klingon Empire, the K-CT has quite old technology commercial Warp nachelles and these struggle to generate a decent enough Sub-Space Field around both itself and some of the container pods it is attached to, in order to reduce the apparent mass enough to overcome the laws of relativity at sub-light velocities.

It is because of this that the K-CT struggles to achieve both a reasonable sub-light speed, when on Impulse Power, and Warp 2.5 when attached ot a typical large cargo pod. Without any pods attached the K-CT can manage 300,000 Km/Sec. (0.99c) on Impulse and a maximum speed of Warp 5.5 during interstellar voyages.

When not attached to a cargo pod, the K-CT has atmospheric flight capabilities the same as the K-FT it is modified from. The K-CT cannot enter an atmosphere whilst attached to a pod otherwise it will break up and crash.

Maneuverabilty is also severly hampered with the mass of an attached pod putting a great strain on the space frame of the K-CT if maneuvers are not leisurely. It has been know for K-CTs to breakdown, suffer structural failures or even fall apart during evasive combat maneuvers with Pirates or other hostiles. Needless to say, the K-CT is seen as a death trap by crews when operated in hostile or heavily pirated space.

With the Drone Launchers removed, the K-CT is not well armed and easy to catch when carrying a pod.

Despite this, hundreds are known to exist throughout the Klingon Empire. These are operated by commercioal operations such as mining, colonisation, construction, salvage and supply contractors. Also a few have been sold to commercial operators outside the Klingon Empire.

Steps to install
----------------

1. Open your SFCSPC13.TXT file with NOTEPAD.
2. Pick any Klingon ship in the Klingon listing and copy that line twice.
3. Pick in the place in the Klingon Freighters list where you want the ships to exist.
4. Paste the copied ships line here.
5. Change the copied ships line's name to K-CT and K-CT & Pod.
6. Save and exit NOTEPAD.
7. Open SHIP EDIT for SFC 1 and load the SFCSPC13.TXT file.
8. Scroll down the Klingon ship types until you find the K-CT and also K-CT & Pod.
9. Go to the COMMENTS section and import the K-CT and K-CT & Pod SPEC FILES from the KCT model folder.
10. Check that the entry points to the correct folders for the KCT in your own computer's directory system, as mine is probally different.
11. Save and exit SHIP EDIT.
12. Start up SFC 1 and enjoy.

NOTE: You must have at least one stock SFC game ship in human player squadrons to use this ship in multiplayer games. However, AI player squadrons are not bound by this restiction/problem and can have all three ships as K-CT if desired.

This ship has been put under the Klingon F for Freighters part of the SFBSPC13.TXT, so that it can be called up for use in scripts using the FMSE (Fleet Model Script Editor) software add on by Eagle Eye Software. If you want to actually be able to select this ship, in normal SFC select ships, you will have to move it into the FF, CL, CA or DN part of the listing.
