I love the first one...but, it needs a deflector. I'd suggest looking at the Hornet-Class by Cyrille "Tachy" Lefevre. That version of the Hornet-Class has auxiliary "pig-snout" deflectors, which the Excelsior-Class design could tuck along the bottom of the saucer on both sides of the sensor dome, to make them a bit more difficult-to-hit as potential targets. Or better yet, use the secondary hull from the Insignia-Class. The flat, sleek preliminary design of the Galaxy-Class with modular-saucer & a recessed deflector.
