Yes it is Ricks, I have been uploading several of his models of which I have been a huge fan. No offense to other model makers who I also am very appreciative of your work, P81's has always been my favorite.

There are far better ships out there than the locknar in that style. However it is always good to be reminded a half assed job done done two years ago still beats what others are putting out now.

If 0nly we could all be as good as P81...but this is real life and we aren't; that doesn't necessarily mean we won't be either. 
Ya never know, someone could come along who makes his stuff look like it was done by a 5 year with crayons. 
J/K all...I love all his stuff and wish I was as good...maybe someday.

Oh comeon, I didn't mean it as a slam anduril. I just stated my personal preference that's all. I use alot ships from other modelers, The Stress Puppy, Lord Schtupp (Spelling?), Patafala, Sandman, DTW, WZ, The Vampire Lestat, Mackie, and many others. I'd use your models if I could get them. The reason I like Rick's so much is because they are the first models I ever played with in SFC, and he has done quite a few FASA ships as well. I am the sentimental type, so they are a permanent fixture in SFC on my computer. Yes there are better TOS and TMP models out there now, I agree that will always be the case, I just like to bring back the oldies from time to time.

I'm grateful for the fine models Rick made. But I don't think they are the finest example for each hull type. My favorites of his were mostly colaberations he had with Atrahasis. And do we really need another 25 Meg Constitution or Excelsior? No, what we really need is a pristine TMP tug set, Klingon D5 and a few choice freighters. All this time and I've never seen a proper redo of the D5 mesh or the Fed Yamato BB for that matter.
Sorry for the rant but I wanted to voice a big thanks to the my fav three of the modeling community. Ya, we miss Rick's handywork but think how discouraging it is to other people that made stuff that was as good and even set new standards in quality models. How about Wicked Zombie? Moonraker? Gee, anytime they did stuff you had a good idea it was really good. I think you get the idea by now.

Now as far as the loknar posted above (nightsoft version is unreachable still) that is very low poly. The tos locknar I remember was less than a year old and looked stunning. That is why I figured atra had made one. It was either that or someone posted a CGI image somewhere and that is what I remember. Suppose I could try newships if I could remember the link. Anyone have the newships site link?

Yes that is an excellent version of the Enterprise I agree, I did mentioned everyone you brought up, the only exception is Anduril, I haven't been able to d/l his ships. I heard he took them down for some reason, but that was before I came back to this board. I agree wholeheartedly, that P81's ships have been surpassed, only because he went to work for Mad-Doc, anyway, personally I think Patafala's retextures look better, but I keep P81's for sentimental reasons.

That is an excellent idea, Anduril makes incredible ships judging from the pics I have seen online. There is another person who is makiing several ships from TOS and TMP as well as several FASA designs, but I forget who it was and as of last month only a handful were online.

I understand. I commend it but what I was refering to is a D5 that is of a style like the taldern mesh. Atra did a D4 Predator that I pretty much use by default for the Klingon D5. But it isn't exactly the Klingon NCA that it supposed to represent. The NCA is kind of a big deal for the Klingons because it marked the departure from the weak rear shielding and poor alpha strike that was common to their heavy cruisers. It was a reasonable opponent to the Federation NCA. Especialy since the Klingons never got their stasis device in SFC. KF did a couple of nifty retextures but the mesh itself a little mediocre. So believe me that I'm not dissing yoour pre-TOS D5. Shoot, if I was competent I would make one myself. I spent four days pasting FD13's textures to it a few weeks back. Truth is I can't make a texture worth applying to a mesh or I might give it a shot.
BTW, I would be happy to share any of Anduril's models that I have if you like.

That's done. It will be in minions TMP pack. However I have not had much time to work on mods the last couple weeks, (I am not wasting perfectly good weather infront of the comp) but I have a miranda, connie and constelation I need to do and a tmp saladin to finish.
Also, does anyone know where gost has most of his models? I saw alot of stresspuppy models at a site here recently. All of them are either calsses I have or don't need or are just not going in the tos mod. LIke the yamato, bit of a super vessel.

Fabio got this into Mod format and Makotokat posted it for a brief period of time at his site. It should be noted that I I had to use P81's Loknar front warp engine intake textures to fill in some missing textures. I e-mailed him about using his textures and credited him in the updated readme file. It was also scaled down slightly. I'm pretty sure Makotokat has the updated version. If not I can always send it to him for uploading to his site. This makes a great X era Federation destroyer.
