Title: Votee for which SFC2 race you want modeled.

These will be all new mesh and textures.  The will be based off the tmp era ships and could be considered late TMP or TNG era.  Will try to get one ship per class. ie: ff,dd,cl,ca,dn and bb. Meshes will run 2500-3500 or so.

I am still resting my eyes but plan to start next weekend if all goes well.

Can't wait! Sux straining the old peepers huh? That's one reason why I've kinda slowed down...eyes acting wiggy. Oh well, that's how it goes.:s

I'd reccomend doing both, just one first and then the other.  I'd like to see Fed, Klink, Rom, Gorn, Hydran, Lyran, Kzinti, ISC, Tholian, and Andromedan ships all with TNG-era tech in the SFB universe... It'd be a bit fascinating after all those TOS-era SFB campaigns.

No problem dude.  That is practically what I'm going to do.  I've only released one model (My FCA, located at Fleetdock13) but I'm planing to make all types of SFB models (even TNG type SFB ships).  Right now I'm working on the Fed FF and soon I will be working on the Fed CL and later the Early years of the Feds.  I also plan to move on to other races too.

Well, if you're talking about SFC3 when you say "TNG" then it's kinda pointless to model the Mirak since we can't mod any drones into the game. If you mean TNG era in SFC2, then I'd still say do the Lyrans since their ships are more interesting in shape and design.

Truthfuly the Kzin... er, Mirak need the most help. The Lyrans have about everything well covered between Feral's selections and the new tugs Emerald Edge did. The Kzinti... there I said it, need a lot. No battleship, heavy war destroyer, heavy destroyer, tug, light tactical transport, light carrier or other miscelleneous ships that will work with the Taldren Model set. Kreargh's (sp?) has a couple and there is a good CL but that's about it. If you can nail those you will have done the vessal library a huge favor. I think what we are talking about here is some artistic kitbashing. Much of the textures could be rendered from existing stuff!

Kzin... er... Mirak, is a race I do want to give some life too.  I have thought of a few sketches of some designs, but I want to meke them a little different then what you already see in SFB.  Not too much, but something a little more "modern", especially for X-ships/TNG era ships.  But this is way down the road for me.  I still got to catch up with everybody else with Feds, Roms, and Klingons.

Of all Taldrens' stock models,  perhaps the Lyrans are my favorites. This may be why the Mirak need more work. For one thing they are pretty much 2 dimension. x, z axis.  Since the Mirak have 2/3 of the vote. I already did up some sketches on paper.  I already have enough varients in my head for at least 5 ships.  These won't be kitbashes either. Well the original one won't be. Essentially I will be kitbashing the 1st mesh I do for some varients. They will keep with the same basic theme of the stock models. Well have more details though as I well go up to 4000 polies for the upper class ships if that is what I feel they need for the details.

I will try to do up original Textures that are similar to Taldrens so they fit in. Since some had expressed that they want to use them along side Taldens. I do want them to look more updated with the warps and stuff though.

The Mirak probably are the least represented of the races by modelers. That's a good idea to do them. I'll thank you in advance for taking into consideration what others want. It's nice of you. They definately need more varients!!! IMO. Carriers, tugs, etc... Also, while you're at it, maybe (please ) a WYN AxBC. I've never seen a good, late era one.

Rod. Please enlighten me. What is a a WYN AxBC .   What class is it? What role is it designed for? If its within my capabilities I will give it a go.  Are there already designs for it somewhere?

Here's a pic. This is an SFB/TOS version. It doesn't really do it justice, but it's all that I could find right now. It has 4 drone racks, 2 forward heavy weapons option mts, 1 left side/1 right side heavy weapons option mts, 4 360degree ph1's, 2 fa ph3's, 1 ra ph3, 45pts of power with a 2/3's movement cost. A very hard ship to beat when flown well. It's based off of a freighter. Heavily modified and reinforced.

Interesting. I have something in mind. Course it will look more tmp-tngish.  That is the old catamoran  (sp?) trick.  At a summer camp we used to lash 2 canoes together. Same concept, different arena.
