This is an Andromedan satellite ship, usually carried by larger motherships such as the Intruder. Even though it is carried by a cruiser, the Python is easily large enough to be considered a Destroyer, and it is theorized by galactic scientists that satellite ship hangars consist of some sort of trans-dimensional storage facility, similar in concept to a transporter buffer. What?! No one remembers when the Andromedan's turned the enterprise crew into little foam polygons for storage and hijacked the ship to get back to thier home galaxy in the original series?

LOL! Actually, those were the Kelvans though. They come from the Andromeda galaxy, but they were actually trying to escape to the Milky Way to get away from THE Andromedans. Also, they're the ones that probably led the Andro to our galaxy in the first place.
Anyway, thanks everybody for the words of encouragement. There are more Andromedans on the way.
