This ship never existed, but it was for a time a great source of worry for Starfleet. Based on incomplete and innaccurate battle reports, and the inherent assumption that the Andromedans thought and would build ships much like Starfleet did, intelligende and engineering analysts assumed that Andromedans could and would upgrade their ships into a new heavy cruiser analogue by welding a third engine and additional hull volume onto the bottom of a Conquistador. Extensive simulation combat trials showed that the Conqueror would be a dangerous opponent, but no Andromedan with a third engine ever appeared.
Over the decades during which the Andromedans went from random unknown menace to a major invasion, the various intelligence services from all the races evaluated what combat reports they could get of ships that (a) got close enough to an Andromedan to gain useful information and (b) survived the experience. The reports were fragmentary and the results of any analysis were often wrong, sometimes spectacularly so. The Federation, along with the other races in the Alpha sector, simply could not grasp the doctrines, design philosophies, and mental limits of the Andromedans, and more often than not assumed that the Andromedans would, logically, follow the same design doctrine the Federation and its neighbors used. The combat simulators were programmed with no end of bad guesses about the Andromedans, such as the use of improved Phaser-1's (it eventually turned out that the Andromedan "Phaser-2's" were an entirely different weapon that had similar effects, seeking weapons, fast patrol ships, and other specialized variants.

These Andros get scarier every time I read about them.
I can't wait until the whole Invasion fleet is ready.
Qapla!

I wished we could have had a big weekend SFB "Andy comes out to play" party. Where everbody got to play both sides of the conflict. I should take a double helping of getting whooped on by the Andromedans as I never had to play against them. But as an Andromedan player you feel pretty much in control of how things are going to unfold tacticly. All you have to do is let the other guy commit to a tactic then exploit them. You usualy get to choose the when and the where if you stay on top of things. Of course you can always make a mistake...

Evidently the server at NightSoft is down.
Last that I checked, StarForce hadn't added the Conquerer yet. The Intruder was up though.

Thanks guys! Go right ahead and use them for BTFF, it would be really cool to see my models flyin' around in Homeworld! (Although for that, you might have to cut down on the polygon count a little bit)

Poly count too high? have you looked at the TOS yamato battleship (The Fed Motherships for both my mods)? lol its almost 7000 polys. Most of my TOS fed ships average about 2000-3000 so i dont think it will be much of an issue. all of those ships are gonna get some badly needed facelifts anyway
Its been a while since i did some SFC work, Maybe its time to start again.
Im gonna have to do some mesh altering to get em to work right in Homeworld: Cataclysim, that Dominator will make a very nice beast mothership
Thanks. Do you have any plans on doing the andro starbase?
Oh i belive someone mentioned a TMP version of the TOS yamato battleship for GAW. There already is one. Its the Taldren model. My ship was based off the SFC yamato, but i used enlarged connie components insted of the Taldren versions "Excelsiorish" look. I can do a version using the TMP connie or the Phase 2 as a base, whatcha think?
-
Cool, I hope those will work for ya.
Anyway, if you're doing a TMP Yamato, I say go with the straight-up TMP connie for parts, I think it'll fit with the rest of the mod better.
