I saw him live here in NYC years back in his one-man rendition of "A Christmas Carol".  I can  clearly   see why they'd associate him with Christmas (over space or technology).  He did a excellent job.  I'd love to see him do it again even more than seeing him as Jean-Luc Picard.

I hope he gets substantial parts to play, as he is quite talented.  I mean, he did a great job a Picard because he can act, but I think other things will bring out more of the actor.

I caught him in NYC also, doing Shakespeare's The Tempest. He was quite awesome.

I met John D'Lancie when I worked a local airport hotel.  Had to go pick him up after midnight since his plane had a delay.  He is a very cool person,  not Q like you might expect.  So laid back I thought he had medicinal help  Nice person all the way around.

Its probably because its easier seeing him as a warm uncle -like figure...He does look like a fireplace story kinda guy.

Saw hin in a few movies as well... he's definitely a good actor that is capable of playing a wide variety of roles well. He's not exactly a favourite actor but he does his job very well.
