I've been having a bit of a hard time getting mine to work, it's probably some kind of patch issue, but have others succeeded and how does it change your gameplay? Do the TMP Fed ships seem more authentic? Let's discuss it here.

Well, the UI icon for the arc reads totally wrong in my game (looks like RH + FA...), but it definitely works here.
And it's good. AI ships with these arcs no longer gut you in one pass with 12 phasers heading right at you head on. Also adds a challenge to flying with the ships (I've now modded all the fed ships with these saucer phasers in my offline play shiplist).

I get the same results as James. The arcs appear to be implemented correctly, save the UI graphics.

You have to edit the shiplist manually - I do this in Excel as it's easier to find stuff with that than Notepad. Find the cell that corresponds to the weapon arc you want to change, and change it to either SFBR or SFBL for right and left respectively.

Every time I've tried to use those arcs the game has crashed or done some other crazy thing. I did use both the Shipedit and Excel methods to use them, but to no avail (My computer is stupid).

they work for me as well, only thing that sucks is that the arc icon is totally wrong, y is that

I guess when they put the arcs in, they didn't have time to match up the UI icon in the [whatever-it's-called].q3 file.

I would be pleased if someone could explain me what patches introduce those new arcs in SFC:EAW and SFC:OP???

AFAIK, it's only in OP as of the 2.5.5.2 patch jimkirk.
