I'm working on a TOS romulan model, right now I think I'm done with the model, so I thought I'd post a pic here. I got permission to use andurils tos rom textures, but i havent started mapping yet.

alright, i changed it a bit, after talking to azel/atolm, gave it some meat as he put it. I christen thee: the bird-of-ray (as in manta ray)

Ok - I dont care for the four pylons, I'd say two max. either swept forward or backward supporting the warp unit, how about two warp engines side by side with one pylon each canted inward?
I do like the manta ray shape: Romulan ships should look atmospheric capable I think...

Aye, but the pylons should be thin as seen from the front, like a bird's wing or a fish fin.
Engines a little further apart just a wee bit laddie - not touching....

Yep - maybe set the engines and pylons further back like 2/3's engine over the hull and 1/3 hanging off the back will make it look faster, which is always cool

I really wish i could texture, andurils wont work with this shp, do you know of any good tos romulan textures? (maybe atolm would like to do some :-P)

I'm preferable to just the one engine myself, but two engines is fine too.
As for the pylons, perhaps something like this? (someone else suggested this also):
