As some of you know I recently attended a luncheon sponsored by the 800 lb Gorilla, Microsoft, announcing the release of Office 2003. I went through the developer track. Beside hearing some fine speakers on the product, and watching a wiz bang coder at work using C# and XML to make Office2003 sing, they actually fed me a fine little lunch.
Never the less, this being my first event to attend that was sponsored by MS I was a bit skeptical when I was told that I would receive several items just for having attended this rollout event.
Well, folks, today Microsoft Office 2003 Professional and One Note arrived in the mail. Add to that this fine little list of other things for those who went through my particular track:
1 copy of SQL server 2000 developer edition (and service pack 3)
1 Access2003 Developer Extensions
1 Visual Studio Tools for the MS Office System
I'd say Santa did just fine.
Best,
Jerry

Woo hooo! thats pretty cool!

Glad to hear you got some freebies that you could use my friend. My gift to a Taldren member arrived today, at least part of it anyway. It feels great knowing even though you are poor that you can help brighten another person's Christmas.

Grats bro, enjoy (should keep Jerry off the boards for a while woot!)
Kidding bro.

The quick and dirty answer is that it is an app with which your can create scriptable forms (using XML and or Jscript) to communicate through exisitng IT resources.
That's the quick and dirty as it a lot more and, to my surprise, a somewhat elegant MS Office solution.
Best,
Jerry

Just out of Curiosity Jerry, and you dont have to answer If you don't want to, But how much was the Luncheon? IE. was It less then If you had to buy all those Programs seperatly?
