Title: Question concerning strings file; help?

I've been working on a shiplist, just toying around, and I seem to be having problems with the strings.txt file.

I can't edit it. Whenever I open it, each letter or space is separated by a 'block' character. I don't know why.

I did manage to open and edit it once, but when I reopened it, the blocks were there.

I have since done a complete wipe of the HD and reinstall of windows. The block characters were there the first time I opened the stock strings.txt file.

Is there some setting I am missing?

try a hex editor

go to downloads.com, and search for hexeditor. then go to the bottom, and select FREE then update

I like Hackman as it intergrates nicley into windows and does all sorts of lovley calculations/conversions etc..
