The Mosquito belongs to a race known as the Covenant.  They date back to when I used to play the FASA game.  The Covenant (along with others like the K'da, Vackan and Ammahri, who also feature on my website, albeit to a lesser extent) were developed when my friends and I started getting bored with the standard races and starships.
