I have made several for members of TAG, and I have a site (see my sig) there is a page there that gives you a brief idea of how to make one.
-
How can I get a screen shot using Taldren Mod Viewer, what do I press lol

The Prt Sc key (whever that is on your kb) takes a single snap shot of what you see and places it in the clipboard. There are also a number of free and trial programs (available from places like www.download.com) which allow you to take as many screenshots as you want and stores them as a file instead of in memory.

Here are a couple of images I took for a banner:
This first one looks real nice if you create a new .jpg that is the same height but a longer length with a black background, since the black of the image blends in to the right. You could then put your sig info to the right of the image.
Feel free to use them if you'd like. I never got around to making a sig so I'm not going to use them.

WHo needs a A Banner sig anyways?
this is an old one i dont even use anymore.

as long as you stay in the game they dont get old.

There are quite a few People here who can make A very nice Sig photo for you. If you play nice, maybe one of these guys might help you.
VSFEdwards.... He needs the Practice, and Is an up and coming Photo expert.
Dallas..... This guy can do some great work, and Is currently working on a Sig for me right now, I can't Brag enough on his work.
ToastyO..... He made a joke to Ravok about me being in the know about the SFC3 patch, so I think It's only right for people to PM him about his great work in sigs.
Actually he made the Sig that I use right now, The "that's sirgod to you mister"
All of these guys are just an example of the Wonderfull talent we have here, Just ask, and I'm sure someone will be happy to help you out.

Press Alt + PrtScr (takes active window only), then go to your photo editor and select paste. and voila, in comes the picture of the ship you had in the mod veiwer, now just crop and fine tune the image to your liking.

Honestly the Mode viewer is a pain, it doesnt Anti-Alias, but then again, neither does the game.
Best bet, grab the ship you want, and put it in game. or if your lucky enough
grab a guy with 3ds Max and ask him to render it out, thats what i did with the Caliburn, as below.
