I hope the guy finds a job somewhere he'll be appreciated.  Maybe he should open his own restaurant and thumb his nose at his former employers when he refuses to serve them (or they can't find a spot to sit!)

If I were him I'd take the publicity and run.  Find a business partner and open a restaurant right across the street.
