I'd been using butt connectors, then started soldering and shrink wrapping because of moisture issues.. but that takes a lot of extra time.. has anyone else seen these things? WOW! A butt connector with built-in solder and shrink wrap! Heat it and it solders and seals at the same time!

Im impressed with the shrink and adhesive part that seals and becomes waterproof, and being see-thru and color coded are cool, but does it solder?
Anyway, its a cool tool.

Yeah.. they also make them that you can use crimpers on, then shrink wrap..I feel much better about the long-term integrity of the connections when I use these.

Sorry, I imagine it must suck when your butt falls off.

Thank you, thank you.

Wrong profession.. you are thinking about plumbers...(rimshot)

How do you heat those puppies?
Eutectic Tin-Lead solder has a liquidus of 183°C. Use a MAPP or propane torch? Don't you scorch the adjacent insulation?
I assume these things have flux.

I use one of the Benzomatic propane solder guns. Remove the tip and it's a heat gun.. a cheaper solution is a pipe lighter. It has a bent nect so the flame doesn't point at your fingers, and it gets to 440F.
