I used to have several modelling tutorials saved to my hard drive from awhile ago that I can't remember where I got from. Recently, my hard drive died and I lost them. Does anyone know where I might be able to find them again?

Try:
http://hippiesatemysangies.whoadude.com/discovery/
It has a few tutorials.
And I think this site has others too:
http://www.meshweaver.com/
Hope this helps.

Thanks for that.
In particular, I'm after a tutorial on how to do hardpoints and damage points.

There is a PDF file in the Taldren Model tools which explains a little about that.
Basically you must add Dummy objects named in an specific way.
I can email you the file. But only the PDF is a 3M file.
YouŽd better download the entire tools.
Here is a tut about what you need and the links to get it.:
http://www.strategyplanet.com/sfc/sfc3/faq_models.shtml
Right at the top of this page you have a link to the models tool by Taldren.
Look at this part of the site:

In additions to the Step-by-step guide (this page), Starfleet Universe is also proud to host two other manuals that explain the intrigues of SFC3 modelling and modding in better detail.
-The Modelling Manual by Taldren goes through the steps to create a 3D model in SFC3.
-The Spec Editing Guide by SFCx.org's Nomad explains how to change the specifications once the model is completed.
Hope this helps.

For SFC2 or 3? I'll try and find them if I still have them on the hd, I'm not really sure where they would be anymore unless they are at SFU or SFCX.
Also, what program are you looking to use? I think I remember you saying you had Max at one time, but I could be wrong.

Can 'dummy objects' be located outside the mesh?
-
Pretty sure they can. I believe I've had a model with phasers far off the side where there is no mesh, but it's always worth another test.
-
Try adding a hardpoint along the equator of a planet outside the mesh. Oh, and for kicks... Give the planet a G turn mode.

Hope that all works~! If it does, SFCOP wont ever be the same.

I'm using 3D Studio Max 5 and Adobe Photoshop 7, for both SFC2 and SFC3.
Thanks for all the info too... anymore is much appreciated...
