Title: Fan designed TOS Rommie Starbase

The fan who designed it is me.     I couldn't find a pic of a FASA one so............  I don't really like it.  I had an idea in my head but it didn't seem to transfer to the model. Though I may still try some things. Like changing the shape on those 8 spheres more like the 1 on top. Try to picture it with windows, that would help alot. Only 1 pic,  bottom row of thumbnails.

Not to get OT, but I spied that ship immediately to the left of your starbase (which is off to a good start, BTW) and was struck by the cool texturing you did. Looks sorta like tiger stripes and organic. I like it a lot.

Basically, it looks pretty good.  I'm sure windows and other thingies when added will spiff it up even more.  Got a projected release date?

I am not setting a release date  cause its hard to tell for sure. I can say that I plan on releasing all my Roms in a ship pak for SFC3 if the file doesn't get too big.  The release will include the V-1, V-6,V-8, Q-1, S-4 (which I will spec as a freighter), P-12 (shuttle) and  a version of a Rom starbase. I just realized I am short 1 ship from my goal. I just wasted a few hours on a mesh that didn't turn out  Rather then hit the moddelers wall, I will switch to texturing and finish all these half done projects.  I kinda want to get back to my TOS Feds. I have a few surprises  in store for them.

I realize that most of those ships are cruisers but TOS designs are short for DN's. So I plan on  speccing at least one as a DN.

Thanks for noticing. Thats one of my personal favorite ships I made. But the textures are a bit dark and I've lost interest in TNG era for now so it may never get finished.


I added a new pic of a Rom base. This is my 3rd version by moving the shapes around. I like this one better. All 3 are running over 6000 polies. I figure its worth that many because there is only ever 1 base in game at a time unlike ships that can have fleets.
