hey, thatws pretty cool, but... are there specs for these ships? i mean, this is the pre-TOS era, right?
-
Pretty neat!
She looks like a cross between the Daedelus and Constitution, a nice transitional design.
-
its tos and she be the same specs as the enterprise 1701 as this was one of the designs they was thinking of useing

Awesome job.

Oh yeah, I think I remember seeing something like that from the design team gene had working on for the way the enterprise would look like for the show... Ahhhh...

Looks like it could use a little bit of smoothing on the sphere..otherwise i love it.

Hye bud .. if ya dont mind my asking .. Where do you find this history about the "pre TOS" stuff. I use to be a Trek nut case .. I knew how they chose the first model design that was used .. but little items like this .. I never knew about. I'm glad to see that some one knows this stuff. I t does help me in understanding a lot more of the "behind the scenes development.
BTW... excellent job.

Awesome work DD!!!
I also modelled a few of Matt Jefferies conceptual designs
He was waaaaay ahead of his time with some of those ideas
I mean you can see all the ideas that could have been

Is there a site with his work on it?

Not an entire website that I'm aware of, but a quick summary of the process that the late Mr. Jeffries went through to design the TOS Enterprise can be found here. Not only will you see the sketch that inspired DD's Glamorgan, but also ones that inspired the Daedalus design, the "Enterprise" series Vulcan "ring" ships, and even some that have a certain similarity to the Defiant (though I don't know that the people who designed the Defiant actually used them as any sort of inspiration). You can also find a similar summary on the design of the Galileo shutlecarft here. It's safe to say that Star Trek would look very different without Matt Jeffries...

Those interested in Trek concept art in general should check out the main site at Starship Datalink--there's several articles in the "Concept Art" section (taken from the Star Trek Magazine, mostly) about how various ships were designed.

BTW: The name Daedelus was one of three advanced design put forth by NASA for nuclear powered space ships in real life a couple a decades back. one ofthe designs was fission powered theothers were fusion. One with a molten core and another with a gaseas core. Two of the names were Daedelus and Icharus. I do not know what the third was. If they had been built they would have been such a ships real precursors.
