Title: The Obliterator
Post by: WickedZombie45 on April 13, 2004, 04:26:34 pm
This is my take on the Taldren "GaW" Andromedan mothership concept:

This beast is online at DRS, so show no mercy to the Milky Way Galaxy....

Absolutely bad-ass!   Awesome work.

PS: Apologies for asking Off Topic, is the warp pylons and neck from your Federation Class dreadnought ok to use in a kitbash? I did one for someone who requested it, but dont want to release until i know its ok to use those parts or not

U already know what Im gonna say. I luv the way you tapered the aft hull in increments rather than it looking like a meat cleaver chopped off the whole back end...

Its a very cool ship. But if its a mother ship... able to carry 4x CL sized ships at least, I'd think it'd need to be a bit larger. ::yikes::

Yeah... You are capturing the fear factor of the andro look...

Same here.  I guess it might be the Nightsoftware servers again.  There's a real nasty storm here in the NE US.   I wonder if the weather is as bad over there where DRS is housed and if that might affect anything (downed power lines, etc.)

More likely it's because everytime I update DRS, the server dies. It apparently has a very strong distaste for the presence of the undead.

Yeah, you can release the kitbash with my ship parts as long as I'm credited.

The ship doesn't have to be supersized to store 4 CLs - based on what little info there is on the Andros, for all we know, their satships could be dematerialized and stored in pattern buffers, or in parallel dimensions, or a giant duffle bag....

That's quite a ship! A definite addition to my collection. Great work, Zombie!

By far that's one of the best Andromedan ships I've ever seen.

Not to hijack the thread, but I once as a kid read a Superman comic story in which some advanced bozos terrorizing Metropolis used these futuristic tanks... but they weighed next to nothing!  But somehow, with some kind of super-vision, he saw that most of the bulk of the vehicles were contained in "negative" space.  I wonder how they could then fire their weapons at the people of Metropolis!

But hey, I figure Starfleet and their friends/foes are more advanced and Nightsoft most advanced, as they've been able to train their servers to fear undead guys... must be those glowing red eyes of his.  Now if only I could get WinXP not to fear or hate SFC1 so much...

Awesome work WZ, STUNNING TEXTURES!!!

Lurvely, the proportions seem a lot better than the Intimidator which looked a bit squashed from certain angles. Betya the captain of that K'T'inga had to go get a change of underwear after that, not that anyone'd notice on a Klingon ship

That's kinda funny considering that the Obliterator is basically the same model as the Intimidator. All I essentially did was change the details and rescale it.

Hmm, well it definetly seems longer (compared to it's width - the Intimidator was a little short) Also it seems flatter than the Intimidator. Maybe it's just my dodgy eyesight LOL

Well the killer textures really help to make it look big even without it looming over the poor D7. that is to say doesnt look like a scaled up smaller ship. Your Intimidator is just a wee bit sweeter model IMO though... itis totally killer for sure among the finest top models out there.
