Title: Would someone do a planet alteration for me?
Post by: Dizzy on April 20, 2004, 12:28:37 am
I need Hardpoints 1,2, 11 and 12 rehardpointed OUTSIDE any stock planet mesh.

Who can do that for me?

You know, it seems like the last time I looked, the hardpoints were all outside the mesh, guess I'll have to go look at that planet model again.  I moved them all onto the equator once, but never tested it out to see how it reacted (as they were placed all around the the model from top to bottom).

Pick any stock planet model khalee. Pick the moon or earth or something. Any would work, but dont choose anything with rings.

EDIT: U do have the stock planet models?

They are all outside of the mesh. If you are still thinking of PD for a planet Dizzy, the problem is that they are so large that rarely would a drone etc get close enough to a hardpoint for it to be effective.

Then put the hardpoint even further outside the mesh. Put them all outside the mesh.

I dont believe thats true, Rod, cuz when I see a home planet fire photons or Plasma at me they come from the poles.

Perhaps the hardpoints are located at the poles and not around the equator?

It's true Dizzy. For example on the Earth model HP #1 is just above lake superior. HP #2 is over Central America just about 1/2 way between No. and So. America. HP #11 is about 1500mi. west of South America 1/2 way down the continent. HP #12 is about 1000mi. west of the southern tip of So. America. All of the HP's are there spread out around the planet.

lats try changing the turn mode to G and add tractors.

We need to look closer at the hardpoints, cuz some do fire from the poles.

Which ones are right there at the equator?

The hardpoints you listed earlier create a single verticle line from north to south pole.

Technically there aren't any directly on the equator, they are stationed north and south (perhaps one of the reasons that they don't have the range for PD?) of the equator.

the hardpoint row just above the equator are:

2,4,6,8,9,10,19,20

the row to the south are:

11,13,15,17,20,22,23,24

OK, here you go.  Nightsoftware is inaccessable to me again so I put it on my homepage, It won't be there forever but I'll keep it there for a while.  It should be the PlanetEarth, with the hardpoints moved to the outer perimeter of the model, around the equator.  As I said, I never got around to testing what the result was, since I have been busy building models for a mod, so have at it and let everyone know what the result it.
