Title: My first model...

It's pretty simple and not really finished, but I thought I'd post what I have anyway because I think the effect is so cool! (best in game) There's one face in the model I'm having trouble fixing after I broke it, but its fun trying to figure it out. Anyway, the model is here.

Static pics hardly do it justice as it is a very simple model - what's cool is the texture effects, but here ya go: pics.

I really like it.  As you say, the effect is really cool.  For the mildly inquisitive, here's a hint...it's a tholian!

After looking at the screenies, I am wondering what it would look like in a red/orange scheme...

Thanks guys, glad you like it.

I was playing in a nebula with it on RDSL tonight (as a gorn HBD) and it took on the reds nicely - it looks great in nebs, a red/ orange for the textures might work well, I'll give it a try on another version or another ship (or parts of a ship?...). I keep finding flaws and glitches in this one as I play with it.

Very cool, Bonk. It's nice to see people working with unique lighting/texture effects. I hope that you keep working with it. In the meantime, (after a bit of resizing and HPing) I've got a new Tholian PF Thanks man.

wtg bonk! Thats great. Keep modeling even if they tell you u suck!

I'm gonna try and replace the textures using my andromedan PA Panel lighting trick and see how that works. The mesh itself is interesting. Looks like a tholian and I examined the lines and points and you did a nice unique cut out in the main 3x hull beams on the center. Very cool. I like the front end too. Its not symetrical, rather it looks like a real crystal...

Imagine if the Thols could 'grow' their hulls like crystals... Maybe thats what 'weld' means in sfb?

I like that take on "weld ". That really works for me. I could never understand how a race with warp tech and lasers had to weld hulls together   ? You point makes valid sense Dizzy

I like the color scheme; definitely advertises the ship as being from some culture that's different.
