This is my take on the Space Flight Chronology Baton Rouge class cruiser, which is the immediate predecessor to the Constitution. I personally belive the USS Republic is a member of this class (as there's no canon evidence to suggest otherwise.
)
This is a collection of what I've done so far. Please refer to Steve Pugh's Baton Rouge page for what I'm trying to get at. Note that I'm only going by the 3/4 drawing, as the schematic doesn't really look that good. (Try downright disturbing
)
The original forums is at SCN Starship Republic NCC-1371 - Baton Rouge Class so take a look.
Now, here are the most recent/relevant pictures.

Well, you see, when I see the name "Baton Rouge" class starship, I go back to "The Final Reflection," and expect to see a saucer connected to an oblong block.
If my web hosting was currently up, I'd show the version of the Baton Rouge class that a friend of mine did, which is a little closer to that description...
Once I get past that, though, it's an interesting take on a pre-TOS design...

I liked the pic/painting of it on the link page. I'd D/L it if the finished model looks like that.

And Mariner great job with the blueprint
I personally love that design...I even did my PreTOS Enterprise

I'd love to see her with Enterprise-colored hull, perhaps a little lighter, but not in Connie's gleaming white. We'll leave that for Connie to roll out first
