As Most of you know ive started doing some texture work for MP and Manitoba but as a genral note i can only retexture ship that have exsisting textures even if they are blank i can still do it but the tools i have are limited (paintshop pro 8 and the mod veiwer) so if anyone would like me to dress up their ships i would like it if they have at least 4 pages 2 for detail 2 for lighting.....unless anyone knows of a tool which allows me to apply textures to a model without having to use studio max or lightwave neither of which i have. this is just a quick message for those who would like me to do some work for them i dont charge because i do this in my spare time both of which i have loads of while i await a house to move into.

why not just change the size of the textures and put the things you change in the same spots?
-
and how could i do that without a programme to place the textures on a model with no textures already?
i can texture stuff that has texture sheets but without any texture pafes attached to the mod its pointless me even drawing something up because i dont know what ti looks like

Go to night soft and look up Lithiumview the demo it will allow to put textures on 3ds files directily. Not to good with it myself but smiley uses it allot and has great success with it. then all you have to do is to get some one to export it as a mod file. Also if you need a cheap way to do it look into Milkshape version 1.6.6 and get the plug in from Nightsoft. It will let you import 3ds files and otehrs, you can apply textures in it and export to a mod file, this one will cost you 25 bucks to use once it goes past the free 30 day trail period.
Up to you for how you want to approach it but Lith is free but some one has to covert for you or spend 25 dollars US and you can do your own Export work as well as Hardpoints and damage points.

thanx for that but im working with the mod files themselves not the 3ds file i know i will try the lith though out though and im getting a copy of 3d studio max 5 shortly say in the next 2-3 weeks for free depending on how good my contact in discreet is so hopefully it wont matter but for now like my first post said if anyone want me to do textures if they have some textures already attached even if they are rubbish i will retexture them

The plug ins from Taldren for Max only work for 3 and 4 not 5 and up.
If the ship is in mod formate there is nothing you can do to it, it has to be in 3ds or another editors files inorder to add the maps to them.

The Max 4 plugin will work with Max5 just not 6
