Title: I just removed the Taldren forums from my Favorites pulldown menu
Post by: Abfalter on June 28, 2004, 08:42:30 am

*sniff*

I know we need to get over it, but, hey, I am grieving here a bit.  I was used to going there multiple times a day....

(Thanks for those running this board for keeping us alive!)

I'm still holding on.  For some reason.

I know this is going to sound corny.. But grieving and accepting a loss takes time.
I know i was shocked and hurt by Taldrens sudden closing, And I truly did not realize how much a part of my life it had become, Until it was gone. :'( :'( :'(
Some times it is just best to remember the past fondly, And move on to a better future. :)

1.  Denial (this isn't happening to me!)

2.  Anger (why is this happening to me?)

3.  Bargaining (I promise I'll be a better person if...)

4.  Depression (I don't care anymore)

5.  Acceptance (I'm ready for whatever comes)

or

1.  "No, they won't really close."
2.  "Damn Majesco, damn them to hell for cancelling Black-9!"
3.  "Maybe Taldren-Korea can host the forums"
4.  "Sigh..."
5.  "OK, I guess I'll remove it from the Favorites menu"

To be honest, this forum is feeling like the Taldren boards now.  If I can slip back into denial, maybe I can just imagine that it's a new look and feel to the same forums...

Exactly what DID happen?  I was checking the forums regularly, saw an announcement saying that the forums would be closing for some reason, but to keep checking for more info, then all of a sudden it was gone.

I haven't been able to get up what it would take to remove the Taldren forums from my favorites yet. <sigh>

I even still click on it accidently and don't realize it until I get the error notice.  <sigh>

I wanna go home.  <sigh>

To be honest, what matters to me are the people.  This is the best and most diverse group of people I have ever seen.  In some way we have all grown for the better because of what Taldren started.  IMHO that was Taldren's true success story here in the U.S.  Taldren has done its job by bringing us together and allowing us to grow into the community that we have become.  Now it is time for us to stand on our own two feet.  With SFC source code up in the air, D2 and D3 issues we have new challenges to face.  While I look back at the time spent at Taldren with fondness and sadness that it is gone.  I for one look forward to this new beginning and our new home.

Thanks everyone for the happy times,

Matt

:goodpost: I'm just relieved to slowly see all the old names coming back.
And yes Scott you are right, WE grew up at Taldren but its time to stand on our own 2 feet.
That was a thoughtful and wonderful reply. :)

I still have Taldren's login page as my home page, and I stubbornly refuse to change it.

No...not you, this is just hard. I am so sad that not only is the company I worked for and really cared for going down but the fact that it is causing others to be sad...well it's just a bummer

Accepting change is not something we humans tend to do well.

Regardless of how much we want life to stop...it goes on.

As much as we enjoyed Taldren as our home, we can always remember the good times by keeping the memories.

And thanks to the folks behind Dynaverse.net, we can begin to create some new memories.

Change is never easy or fun but it is one of the constants in the universe.

WAY, WAY, WAY over and above the call of duty.

Consider that they are worried about bigger things; like closing down the shop.  Yet they still took time to help us all ease to our transition here.

Never forget that Taldren let us play in their backyard, on their dime, for years.  I'm very grateful to them.

*applaud*

How about "T2 - Cool and Refreshing" and "T2 - Hot and Spicy"

I wonder if we could change the name of the boards to "Taldren, Too".  ...might have to get Erik's permission for that one...

Yeah...

It's weird to me reading on gaming sites about how there's rumors of Taldren's closing...

Rumors of Black 9 being cancelled....

And then confirmation of rumors....

IGN even put in a bit about how apprently Taldren's forums had been moved...

But this place is really startin' to feel like home to me.

Hope we don't lose to many good people in the transition!

Thanks again y'all for keeping the forums alive!!

I've still got mine.

I do like naming this one Taldren 2 though.

Also, Ann, none of this was your fault. You've heard that already, I just wanted to add my voice as well.

Take Care all,

Merlin

I still have short cut Icon on my desk top.In all retrospect it is time to start looking forward and not back wards. The reason it is hard is all of you got to comfortable on Taldrens Forums it was like second home to you.I will say this is don't get to comfortable on this forum like you did on Taldren's.I liked Taldren's forums to but not for the forums themselves but for the people on them Admins,Moderators and Users. That is what made Taldren a great place and no it wasn't just about playing a game either.

I would look on the bright side as Taldren S.Korea gets its financial house in order and starts making some projects no matter what they are PC or Console games in order to generate some revenue for the company. When Taldren is on Financial solid ground Erik may Start the forums up again.I hope with same look .I still see it is still on their mian web site.
