Title: Stupid question time Differance between CD's and DVD's is what

other than maybe one can be recorded on and the other cant.

1/ The DVD uses a laser of shorter wavelength that allows reading smaller features on the disc.  What this means is you get more information per disk (rather like using smaller text in a book allows more information in a book the same size)

2/ The DVD can be made with 2 layers per side.  (Back to the book comparison this is like using thinner pages, again resulting in more data stored).

Get used to DVDs, game manufacturers will soon only offer DVDs for games.

The days of CDs are nearing their end.

The problem with this is what DVD format are they going to use. The current one or the new HD DVD format that they are coming out with.

Lol I had the same idea.


As for HD-DVD's, I don't think you need to worry about that so much. Sony has a much more organized, better looking Blu-Ray disc coming out.
