I had one A RCA brand had a 7in screen weight about little over a pound. Could play about a couple of movies till the batteries need recharged. I lost it when I had my wreck last year. if your on the road a lot its a good investment I think, with a set of stereo head phones its had good sound and a good picture.

It cost me around 400$ last year so the ones out now are fairly comparable in price, specially since some have a bigger screen too.

Extensive experience.

They are quite handy and are extremely hardy, compared to what one might suspect. We had a couple with our unit while outside Falujia and in Baghdad. They have a really short battery life, though- like one movie... and not a real long one either.

I believe that the mostr popular was the cheeapest, made by Apex. They were reliable enough, though they would freeze up someand would scratch disks if too much grit was allowed to collect inside the machine; though they were less expensive to get broken if something happened.

Im sure that the bigger names will make better products.

Here is a link (http://www.rca.com/product/viewdetail/0,2588,PI700802-CI700101,00.html?) to the unit I am looking at.

It may be the same unit Khalee had.

One of the features that I like is the ability to display JPEGs from CD-R/RW.
