Title: Something to add to next SFC3 patch
Post by: Red_Green on July 12, 2004, 10:44:12 am
All the officer names can be changed for the Fed, KLink and Rom slots. The Borg however are hard coded. It would be nice if they were editable as well.
Sure they can be added to the Officernames.gf  However the game ignores them.

theyre just names... and I doubt there will be and SFC3 patches since Taldren is gone, unless Acti goes out and gets someone to run matenence on a two year old (almost) game, and the way Acti has treated this community, i doubt it. 534 is what we are stuck with. Unless Pesty does stuff in his free time, which he has little of. Why do officer names matter anyway?

If I remember correctly, once you change the race of the 4th slot (to cardassian for example) - you can insert officer names. Or perhaps Dave linked it to the "BorgRegen" thing, it's definitely one of the two.

personly I would like not having to have the SFC3 disk in the primery drive.  I had to reinstall the game when I added a 2nd hard drive.   Plus my 2nd drive is quiter to use

In the sfc.ini file, under the [UI] section, put this in

MakeItSo=1

You won't need the CD except for installing the game.

Pelican, I can't seem to find or open this file. I assume it is in the SFC3 directory. I found a file called sfc, which I assume it is the ini file, but when I open it, it is blank. Can you point me in the right direction please?

anyway you think Petalence or you, Pelican, are interested in making all nine races playable, or adding more races?
I have made he Pirates as Fed, so on, but wish SFC3 had more races nonetheless.

IndyShark, that 'SFC' file, you should right-click it and select 'Open With....'.... select Notepad.

It is not possible to get all 9 races playable. Since there are only 4 race slots. Yes you can do it by adding in  more than 1 race per slot though. Even with the 9 player map, only 4 race slots are available at 1 time.
