Title: Final draft on the X-CLC refit
Post by: OlBuzzard on July 22, 2004, 11:45:08 pm
After reviewing several pages of proposed refits for the "X-CLC .. Advanced Light Cruiser (AKA USS Bass Master)...  I have decided to go with the following.  Please note that the final draft on the roll bar has not been textured in any way ...  I am leaving that to a modeler ...  (assuming that someone will take this project for us).  Some of the ideas we origonally intertained have been dropped.  I guess we were just trying too hard to make too many changes.  These however seem to flow better.  Please note that the Nacelles will NOT be changed.

At any rate ....  please review.

Also ....  here is my final draft on the"SeaWolf" Class Advanced Attack Cruiser  ...  dont have a name or registry as yet.

Thanks

I realize this goes beyond SFB and as such might not be as widely accepted ....  but perhaps someone with the appropriate skill will be able to finish them.  It took a couple of efforts for me to find just the right  design to refit the X-CLC ...  but I think we finally have the right one.  Over all this should bring the ship up to speed as far as TNG review is concerned ...  PLUS it introduces the concept of the deflector dish in the pod.  The smaller ones on each side of the body is something that always did bother me ...  and according to "Trek" supposedly had negative results as well...  ( which is understandable)

IO sincerely hope that this can be done.

The initial X-CLC is already done ..  DM ..  and a couple of his buds did the first one.  Did one heck of a kit bash too !!  The refit ideas presented here are cut and paste ideas I have put togeather !!

I am hoping someone can do the mesh to make the refit happen.

Shouldnt take long... looks like a modified Sov saucer with streched Galaxy nacelles and a rollbar.. :D

If i wasnt so behind with my converions Id do her for you... and if nobody else takes her up she can go in my list..... i'll wait a week or two though because im sure someone will pop up and give her a shot ;D

Just to clarify..

those are actually btwo seperate ships

The first is the SeaWolf class  or aka USS Bass Master...  perhaps this evening I can post the entire concept and refit all togeather.  ( Not all views ...  just the key ones.

The second ship is the new concept..  It IS based on the Sovy ...  much in the same fashion as the X-CLC is an Advanced version of the Miranda..  ( which is of course based on the Connie refit).

I hope this all makes sense.  I has been kind of a favorite design of mine ..  working on the Advanced Light Cruiser.  The Sovy-Miranda is the last ..  the logical conclusion of the series.  Due to its size ...  and capabilities it is NOT, however, a "light" cruiser ... "CLC" ..  it is closer to a new heavy..  this one will be a CA  hull class.  It should still be VERY maneuverable (more so than any current heavy in the Fed line-up)...  have a good power reserve ...  and have the fire power of course of a heavy.  This also presents the idea of a new class catagory.  I see this as a "Advanced Attack Cruiser".

SHAMELSS BUMP

...  just a reminder ..  It would be nice if the X-CLC was refit before Nanner releases his next mod : 2.0 (might possibly be  the last one)

thanks

that's cool bud.. the way I understand it ...  you are working on the Advanced Attack Cruiser .. the "Sovy " version  right ??

This ship is the predecessor to it.  It is the "X-CLC "  Advanced Light Cruiser. So far I don't have any one who can help with the refit on it. ( And Nanner is now putting togeather is next  version for the GAW mod !)

Good luck with your efforts ..  let me know if ya have any questions about the design.  I will be glad to help any way possible.

thanks

if u can get the nacelles to look like they're drawn it's going to rock.

Ya mean the ones on the Advanced Attack Cruiser ..  they are sort of a cross over with two or three ideas we've been kicking around...  cant seem to get a good rear view though ..

And yes..  there is a different "glow" about them !!    ;D ;D

That saucer looks way to NX-ish, might wanna loose the catamran bulges.

I agree about the primary hull.... (if the is the SeaWolf Class USS Bass Master) ...  leave it as it was ..  maybr change the bridge to something like the Galaxy class ....

The new roll bar is looking great...  just a couple of minor tweaks  ( check you top view and see how she profiles )

I'm also very curious to see how the nacelles turn out ..  TNG ..  (or better ) ...  this should be good !

over all a good review !!

At the very least there should be a "raised" area that is charactoristic of the Miranda class ..  on the primary hull.

hmmm

would you believe that it only took me 3 years to learn enough about modeling to redo the Bass Master on my own.  I have the mesh now completed .. a complete model from scratch.

I'll post a couple of picts tonight !

man ..   hard to believe it's been that long !

I'm not fond of those oversized cannons on the side, they seem a tad too large, otherwise it's looking great.

I kinda wondered about that ... I'll see what I can do with them.

UGH !  ...  my ISP seems like it has my site down more than up here lately (that is why the picts don't show up from time to time ).  Hopeflully that will change in another month or so !  Sorry for the trouble !

That's cool ..

I have no plans to change anything ! (aside from looking at the 360 deg pods on the roll bar).
