Help Needed!
Yesterday my Internet WWW died. I would get DNS errors on my web browser.
Apparently my ISP now uses a proxy.
They gave me the proxy info to enter in the Internet Options - Settings - Proxy field. I entered it.
Lo and behold my tripod webpage and even my domain name (my person first and last name with a dot com on the end) is now considered objectionable material and I can't access it (This is a personal account at home)
The Tech support then suggested that I uncheck the proxy option. Small problem, no proxy enabeled, no Internet. Proxy enabeled can't update my homepage.
Any ideas?
Update: Earthlink is offering one free month. I'm using them temporary until (if) my current ISP solves the filter frustration. Just though y'all might want to get the 411 on the Earthlink free month in case you have internet problems like I had the last two wonderful weeks :banghead:

My first thought was that your parents had changed your inet account to a filtered *safe* account. Then I checked your profile and realized that if your parents are censoring your internet at your age then you've got other problems that we're not going to go into here. ;)
It appears that your ISP has gone to some sort of content filtering to get rid of the smut online and haven't really told people about it. It's on their end. They need to get their act together.
A year or so ago, my ISP decided to put in spam filtering. They didn't tell anyone. They just put it in. I stopped receiving newsletters that I had paid for. As they didn't have any way of letting me partially configure it, I ended up having them turn it off.
Keep calling and complaining to them. Get them to fix it.

New ISP. Proxies are evil.

I suggest a new ISP. As ISP is there to provide internet access and shouldn't be censoring what you see.

Ask them to print out and fax you the pages you want to see, but can't. The proxy will either be taken down, or they'll become so annoyed with you that they put out a mob hit.
The possibility of a mob hit is well worth the fight against oppression!
