Title: F-40 Warhawk Fighter
Post by: Wicked Zombie on August 01, 2004, 10:20:40 pm
Obviously inspired by the WWII era P-40 and now at DRS' shuttle/fighter section:

I'm glad that you put the skull and crossbones on it. I can definately see it as a pirate ftr. Kinda low tech, but effective.

WZ, ever play ST:Judgment Rites (Interplay, but waaay before SFC1, even)?

There was one phase in the game, if you played it according to the authors' story instead just blasting ships, like I did most of the time, in which the Enterprise had to defeat a Fokker biplane, of WWI vintage, but out in space.

It'd be a gas, and if you don't mind the request, to see that same red (as in Baron) Fokker for the SFCs!

Anyhow, pretty realistic model, except for the futuristic blue glowy thingies!

That thing better have great shields, or those flimsy projections from the sides and aft might get blasted off at the first hint of combat!

Once again his Deadship blindsides me! Neato! Brings back some childhood memories of playing with models like these!  Thanks for sharing!

BTW, that Starfleet fighter you're using for size comparison?is she an untouched stock fighter or a retextured version?

Fallen Warrior! - 30 gigs!  :o

THAT particular version of your wing span strongly resembles the first release of the P51 Mustang..   ( not the D that every is familar with ) ..  great job other wise !

Aww, I was hoping for a new Trek fighter... :P

Great job though. I'll bet the Orions won't have qualms about using this. With that anchient aluminum frame, I'll bet they'll buy em in bulk. Mmm, canon fodder...;)

I like it!

Any chances on doing a P-51D or BF/ME-109?

Somehow I doubt anyone would be building ships out of aluminum in the 23rd/24th century. As for the Fed fighter, it's the original stock SFC model.

The skull is a fairly generic symbol that pretty much any race would use - assuming most hotshot fighter jockeys are the same in the future as they are now. :2gun:

I never cared much for the Trek and SFB style fighters, most of which look clunky and uninteresting. Besides, ya can't go wrong with the aerodynamic look...

Found a couple "schematics" of a P-51 at TNZ, in the pre-federation section...might give her shot. ;D

Don't suppose you have a link to that one? The only p-51 I know of for SFC is my old hardly accurate scrapper from a few years ago....which is in bad need of replacing.
