For 8 years I only missed Dawson's Creek twice- once for 4 months for Basic and once for 2 months waiting to go to Iraq. I even had my friend tape every episode that I missed so she and I could watch them when I got back.
I have since paid my pennance, carrying a .50 cal Browning out and mounting it on a Humvee every morning and dismounting and securing it again every night- ALONE!

Pretty white kids who speak like English professors...oh and they have some sort of problems and stuff....cuz it's like really hard bein a 30 year old who's playin a teenager =) hehe
-
I watch the Shield, Nip/Tuck and Rescue Me on a regular basis. Reno911 too, I bought Season 1 of that.
-
TV? What's that?? ::)
-
Enterprise... only! But only when it's not reruns. (Honest!)
It used to be also all baseball and hometown basketball until the last major league players' strike killed my enjoyment of pro sports.
Ah, back when there were TWO, count 'em, Trek series!!
-
I rarely miss an episode of Trading Spaces.
I'm also collecting season's of Buffy the Vampire Season and when I've got them all, I plan on getting Angel.
-
I used to watch Iron Chef but it isn't on anymore. If I turn the TV on it's usually for a movie or sports of some kind.
-
Dragonball Z mostly.
I hate seeing the "but its a cartoon" look.
-
I just can't get enough of "Leave It To Beaver" I guess because it reminds me of when I was a Kid ;D
-
That 70's Show and Farscape, love them both.
-
I don't watch a whole lot of TV, preferring instead to rot my mind with the internet. If I do watch TV it's generally Food TV...Jamie Oliver (the Naked Chef) is fantastic, as is Nigela Lawson. I've also been known to watch Will & Grace, something which I am quite shamed about.

Hey, they were high-school age when the show started... well most of them anyway.
And what man in his right mind willl turn down the chance to stare at Katie Holmes? A little more firmness in two 'certian areas' and she would be really hot.
-
Oh yeah, I forgot...MASH is the bomb! Two episodes every night at 11, I rarely miss 'em. Alan Alda is fantastic!

Why wait till 2300 to watch- just buy them on DVD- I watch M*A*S*H* anytime I want.
And everyone should watch the movie- cause it is the most realistic war movie, as far as how people act in wartime, ever made. Not even Saving Private Ryan or We Were Soldiers captures war's effects on people and their personalities or how they cope with ther stress like M*A*S*H*.
-
What station has them at 11 pm? They used to run at like 6-7 am so I could catch them before I left for school in the morning, now I'm lost!

Same station... it's beeen a while, but I think that it is TBS. They had them on at 0600 & 0630; 1300 & 1330; and 2300 and 2330 every day. Six episodes a day.
-
We don't get them on TBS, but on Global Prime (which is a Canadian channel). I watch TBS all the time and have never seen it on there.
If I had the money, I'de certainly pick up all the MASH DVDs available. Though Seinfeld gives it a good run for its money, I think MASH is probably the best sitcom ever made. Oh how I wish I was not a poor student.

Heh, yeah, I had the chance to buy all the saeasons out so far while I was in Iraq and not fronting any bills but my rent (all utilities were turned off). That way, $35 US was not a big chunk of my income.
I too am a poor student.

The painting show on PBS with the fluffy haired guy.... "and another happy little tree here..."
Puts me into a vegatative stupor, without the need for mind altering chemicals.

You mean Bob Ross and the "Joy of Painting"?
...lets put some happy little mountains over here...its your happy painting...you decide what happy little friends are living there happily... Ooooo look. I have a happy little squirrel living in my happy pants. :o :P
I actually like watching his show. Besides, its in permanent reruns. Bob died several years ago from cancer.

Ya, that's the guy. Sorry to hear he died, didn't know that.
His voice was frikken hypnotic, I'd come too a half hour later with an urge to paint a "happy" landscape...

I want to give LikkerPig more Karma!!
I am totally messed up. I watched Masterpiece Theater when I was teenager, then Melrose Place when I was in College and I used to watch Rukeyser's Wall Street Week until I figure out how to scan for stock tips at rukeyser.com. Now, I just watch Trek series until I get bored and just put in my fav. DVD. Oh yeah, my wife and I and the DOG watch Animal Planet. The Pet Psychic is wicked!! :P

Bob Ross was great.

Bob Ross was great.
Yes he was! I loved his happy little clouds!
My family and I love to watch MXC on Spike whenever we can! Has anyone else seen this show? It's freaking hilarious!

Is that that weird Japanese game show with the English dubbing? If so, its great!

I'de love to hear a proper translation of what they are saying on that show. Love watching it though...whoever brought it over here in its current form is a genius.

The "painting" show that makes me crazy is that old gal that does the "one stroke painting".
"Push, twist, pull...push, twist, pull..."
To me she sounds like a hooker with control issues! :skeptic:

Nah it's more like what I say in my head when I am in bed with Ferret! Up, down, then push, twist, pull! What? What I say?

What are my guilty pleasures on TV?
Queer Eye for the Straight Guy
Buffy
Enterprise
Nip/Tuck

I admit I watch documentary's almost religiously. When I get to the US I watch discovery and the history channel almost non-stop, very bad for me to sit and watch TV for so long.
I also am a bit of a fanatic about trying to find out when Red Dwarf and My Hero show...though I'm not quite the fan of suspense and mystery that my mother is, more of a comedy person myself.
-
TV just scares me these days.... Maybe I'm gettin' old.
Most of all TV is just utter crap anymore! (e.g. Arrested Developement) I liked Buffy & Angel, Futurama, Junkyard Wars and stuff like that, but when it really comes right down to it, do I really have nothing better to do than sit here on the couch with a remote in my hand and a steady stream of drool flowing from the side of my mouth?
I try very hard and go out of my way to NOT be sitting around the house with nothing to do, 'cause that leads to TV watching without intent.
Oh, and I did the 'Bob Ross' thing a while ago.... I got the set, paints & a book and knocked out 5 or 6 paintings. Some weren't half-bad. I guess I got bored with it after I found out it wasn't all that difficult.
-
I worry more when my kids knock about the house "I'm bored!" "I don't have nuthin' to do!"
They invariably solve their predicament with: GameBoy, GameCube, Nintendo, TV, or PC, both games and Internet. I ought to kick myself twice for letting them have this stuff.
When school starts in a a couple of weeks or so, this stuff is going to be rationed.
Anyhow, when they watch TV, it's usually NOTHING I approve of. Kids should not watch the sitcom junk on Fox, those bloody crime shows, or Friends. That last one is the sneakiest one; it sounds like a nice sitcom except when you watch it a few minutes, it's all about sex. I can't believe I have to tell my wife to switch channels, 'cuz the kids are sitting there with her. Anyhow, this is why I don't watch much TV anymore. It is appalling to me. And, gettin' old has nothing to do with it- the stuff on is just bad, in the "evil" sense.
-

Thats art for the masses. Virtually anyone can do it. Sorta like Paint by Numbers. Want a challenge? Try marble or clay sculpture or doing a "realistic" painting with oils. Just trying to get cloth to look like cloth is a trick. I'll not even mention the skill it takes to make a face look like a photograph.

Ok I ADMIT IT! I WAS ThE SECOND GUNMAN ON THE GRASSY KNOLL!
-
Prior to Stargate Atlantis coming on, I watched perhaps an hour of TV a month. Now I am up to 4 hours a month. ;)
-
Oh yeah, besides the Buffy/Angel and Trading Spaces, I watch reruns of Quantum Leap on Sci-Fi.
-
I've got you all beat. I haven't missed an episode of Amish in the City. Five Amish twenty-somethings sharing a house with six deranged city twenty-somethings in LA. The show's mainly a snooze-fest. Highlights so far: the psychopathic gay guy gets knocked on his ass after hitting on the musclebound homophobe too many times; an Amish guy who can't swim except for the dog paddle almost drowns on his first trip to the ocean; the ditzy vegan chick castigates an aquarium attendant because she senses the sharks aren't happy living in the shark tank. I am truly pathetic. :banghead:

Now see, that's where they screwed it up. Instead of forcing the issue with contrived situations. I think it would be much more interesting to see the Amish in the real world. Not the reality show real world.

I really don't watch much TV, But i do watch movies on cable every now and then.
A movie i recently watched at the request of my girls, was Bend it Like Bekham.
Much to my suprise I loved it! :o ( Girlie Soccer movies are usually my last choice) I have since, watched it 2 more times. Go figure!!
I guess you should not judge a book by its cover. :-[

Okay, shows I'm not ashamed of admitting to watching:
ST:DS9, ST: Enterprise, SG-1, Atlantis, West Wing, Buffy, Angel (although the last three are on a very irregular basis).
I am somewhat ashamed to admit I do watch Queer Eye on occasion.
