I was asking about Macs because I just learned the other day that Macs by default use a different gamma than PCs do. I suspect that is not news to most people but it was to me.
The blue on this forum is fairly dark on my monitor and causes eye strain after a bit. I was curious to see if there was a technical reason why it works better for Chris or Age.
As I mentioned earlier, I use blue, beacuse it helps me quickly find my own posts in threads.
I will say this that ever since I started using Blue my postings have improved.There were time back in the 60s and prior that led people to have eye problems.This tended them to wear glasses for the rest of their lives.This known fact and as a result led the way to green boards and yellow chalk in all class rooms in all schools.As I mentioned earlier, I use blue, beacuse it helps me quickly find my own posts in threads.
Not why, but how. I do not think you would be doing it if it gave you a headache to read it. So if there is no technical difference I will attribute it to my bad eyes.

The bold red isn't bad, but I am getting into the lime green, it is easier to read by a wide margin.
I just don't read the blue posts anymore. The lack of contrast hurts my eyes. That and I tend to think if someone does not feel what they have to say is important enough to make it legible, it's not important enough for me to make the effort to make it legible.
Uh, maybe I'm just a self-centered so-and-so, but my name makes my posts pretty easy to find in a thread...
Optometrists will tell you that good contrast is essential to not tiring your eyes out when staring at the terminal for umpteen hours per week. Otherwise, your eye vision will eventually deteriorate
