Update: Ran it and it picked up 62 data miners that spybot s&d and adaware 6.0 missed...

I find that you have to use both AdAware and Spybot to get the best protection.  Each program seems to be better at some things than the other. 

Professional or Plus?

Hmm, not sure what you mean by professional or plus.
I'm using Spybot S&D 1.3 and AdAwareSE. Both free 'cause I'm a cheap bastard. ;D

Seems a little more efficient. (Still cant turn off the splash screen though... >:(). It didn't detect anything new on my machine. I guess I'll see what happens next time I come across a Kazaa installation.
