ive noticed that there arnt many defiant type ships that are escort classes i found this at a hellsgate yahoo group and was wondering if someone would like to tackle it, its made by endlessspacetime

it looks klingon but more like an shuttle not like an escort, i could try to make a model of this if i have the time for it, made a new model of the Nierrh some time ago so i only have to change the head and back a bit and make a new texture but there are other models i have to finish first

I never said it didn't look klingon, but it looks too much like the nirreh, which is romulan. If it had a brel or perhaps a wked (by W) style head it'd be better.

The Nierhh that Cleeve did was magnificent. As good a model for SFC that I have ever seen him do. It is sized as a frigate and I choose to use it as the Romulan XFP advanced plasma frigate. I would have to say that the quality of it is so good and the model is so similar that it is as good as anyone could ask for. If it isn't the size you want then take advantage of OP's model size feature to get what you want. It really is quite good.

Perhaps the Klingons had help building the design? Here's an idea shortened up.
The Klingons figured the B'rel was aging too far and needed to be replaced by a new class of starship (same goes for K't'inga, but that's for another proper ship if possible) similar to the Defiant, a more-superior ship. The Klingon Empire were allies with the Federation, right? I figured it was a joint project and properly the class was named after the place where the first peace talks began between the Klingon Empire and the Federation, and the peace is going strong now. I feel it was properly named in that way, even though the ship was one of battle. I guess how the ship was run, I have no idea. But you could say the Starfleet markings on that ship with the Klingon markings indicate that this is the first of the class. Other ships of the class might not have Starfleet markings.
As for copying design? Well, it was said the B'rel was a design shared by the Romulans, as indicated by FASA or SFB, the brief alliance shared designs. This goes similar to the conception that the bird of prey (B'rel) in Star Trek 3 was originally going to be a Romulan ship stolen by Kruge. Well, carrying this concept further, we know that the Prometheus was attempted to be stolen and studied by the Tal'Shiar. Perhaps they got their hands (at least) on the designs of the Khitomer-class (if not an entire Khitomer-class ship)? Then perhaps they would've built a ship of their own (Nierrh) in similar specifications.
How's that for attempting to be creative enough to fill in some gaps? ;)

yep i know it looks alot like the Nierrh but i think this would make an awesome ship for the game aswell and would make a cool battle with the nierrh, i posted this before on (RIP) Taldren forums but no one even looked at it, if someone could tackle her/him lol that would be awesome. and if it needs hosting i can always upload to the webspace provided by Raven that i have at Project slipstream.

She's an awesome design...but I say she's Romulan...prehaps stolen yet again...lol
the lines are too smooth and flow too well for a Klingon, and the feather pattern/style cries Romulan
But I could see the design as a federation Klingon hybrid...or something :)

I feel it a Klingon-Federation design stolen by the Romulans for a change. I mean, are the Romulans the only species to build ships and/or fighter craft in the form of birds? I know today we don't have bird-shaped ships, but our planes are similarly designed to mimic the bird, a species capable of flying on its own. The Romulans probably do it to a greater degree, but does that mean the Federation or Klingon Empire can't (for a change)? *shrug* Even down to the hull patterns... But then, I sort-of think otherwise to what I've been trying to say. However I still think in the end that this could potentially be a Klingon-Federation design.

if someone could model the front part i could complete the model then all it needs is textures ive managed to find the nierrh i was workin on just needs that front part creating but i dont have the skills

Nico Weigand(who did the original hi-res model of the Nierrh) said that the Nierrh was based HEAVILY on the Khitomer class by endless space time.

well ive managed to do the back part of the ship just needs the Beak like front to complete her then all she needs is textures and she is ready for battle if anyone is interested just PM me so we can get this baby released
