Greetings... if you are Hydran and still breathing then you can make a difference!
=SoV=, a group of longtime players participating in the GamerZ Divisional League, have decided to bring back the Hydran race! But they need your help.
What would it take to help? Simple. You can contact them here...
http://www.vengeanceleague.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=5
and let them know that you might be available to practice with them now and then and available once a week for a couple hours to play a league match (which consists of three games using predetermined terms) utilizing the Patrol Battle Rules which are in line with the original SFB concept.
You can read about the Patrol Battle Rules here...

If you breathe methane and would like to help others who breathe methane then consider contacting them. It is fun, easy and you might make some new friends!
Respects and kind regards...

Help Wanted!
Consider this....its not everyday all night. its usually prearranged times and days, so even if you cant make one week you can always make another, not to mention we need people that know what buttons to press in these things.
We will rotate in a out so that everyone that shows has a chance to play. Winning at all costs is NOT our motto (not that we wont give them a bloody nose to remember us by).
If you dont know how to fly Hydran great we dont either. However we are experienced pilots just in everyother race. :)

True hydrans generally use considerably less than that.

Indeed... in my experience with GZ it is considered quite cheesy to bring a CAV into a ladder game (they don't have a ladder per se anymore, but...) or into a divisional game. I have spent time in Hydran boats over the years and can say that, although I make use of fighters (at the expense of the boat I fly) like many Hydrans I want the game to be about competition and honor, not merely watching wave after wave of Velveeta III's tear an opponent to shreds. I believe I can speak for =SoV= (I am "Ronin=SoV=" in the GZ League) when I say that we do our very best to minimize even the appearance of cheese. It is always a challenge to do that as a Hydran, but I wanted to say for the record (for anyone out there considering joining our cause over there) that we like to consider ourselves above such tactics as a general rule.

Not so easy, considering that on GSA those will likely be facing a battleship.

Would this be a good time to bring back Marcus's post about the inequities of a 180 BPV Overlord vs a 180 BPV C7?

Well, although I respect Marcus and his opinions I have no problem facing a C7 in an OV. Is it exactly even? Nope. Will the C7 generally win? Yep. Is that a burn in a ladder league? Yep. But the ladder leagues are gone, gents. GZ is a league centered around Total Fleet BPV for a three ship squadron and uses Patrol Battle Rules to keep squads more in line with what were acceptable in the original Starfleet Battles board game. So, in my opinion, this is no longer an issue in the same way it used to me.
For the record, I always felt that GT got shafted when they won a ladder league cycle, people screamed and yelled, and holding costs, etc. were increased on Hydran boats. I always did, and always will, believe that GT's perfection of flying Hydran was the ONLY reason that those ships were farked with and I could not blame them when they said, "you screwed us, ladder community, now we will take our leave of you."
