Thanks Much. Lots of good info here.

I'm trying to get the 1945 Jane's out of the Library so as to copy the IJN recognition guide that is in it. It has the whole thing- including the rhymes you used to remember each type of ship.

If you want one of the best translations of Japan's own battle records Carney, pick up a copy of "Battle history of the Imperial Japanese Navy" by Paul Dull. Believe me, dispite his name, he writes well, all of it is translated from the Japanese viewpoint.

Sorry, school and work have been pawing at me- not to mention my soon-to-be-declawed fur-child.

I'll try and get there more often. Lately it's been all I can do to keep up here.
