Title: What happened??

There's a missing block of time from about 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM EST on the forums!   Was this a planned outage or did something crash behind the scenes?

I just find it a tad worrisome that no one here even commented (or complained as "we" are wont to do)!

the forums were closed. Probably for maintenance.  though that is speculation.   Atually its more fun to think of it as everybody got banned and then reinstated

I think something crashed.  I saw the error there- SQL error.  It failed to connect to a part of the SQL database where all the post/member/forum info is stored.  Either the Database had been erased (unlikely since our old posts are still here :P ), or the SQL server had crashed, but not the whole computer running it or else the web server hosting Taldren would have gone down as well.  After a short time the entire page was down.  I figure they just had some bug in SQL, worked on it, then restarted the computer (accounts for failure to connect to SQL server, then failure to connect to web server).
