Title: Star Wars Trilogy....WTF???
Post by: The_Joker on September 21, 2004, 07:54:21 am
I've never seen the special edition trilogy remade in 1997, but I could resist buying the DVD set.  Where in the hell is the first scene?  My DVD copy of "A new Hope" begins with Leia programming the hologram message into Artoo, not with the awe inspiring visual of the Star Destoyer coming across the screen firing at the diplomatic ship.  I almost feel like I've got a faulty copy.  Was this change implemented in '97 or is it new?  And Why?

No that scene was still in the 97 special edition.  I would say that you got a faulty copy, unless Lucas decided to re-edit that part out for the DVD release which I doubt.

i will see if i can rent the trilogy and see if it is like that, and if he did do that well it prove that he's became verry stupid by remaking the movies, he should remember that without the fan his movie will not be as big and he will not have make money with the starwars name.

I checked the chapters and that scene is there, so I replayed the movie from the start and this time it didn't skip it, so I'm going to run a lens cleaner through it and play it a few times to check that it works.  If it doesn't, I'll take it back and get another.
