Anyone else bought this game? (Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War). Think Grim was on the Beta team.
Finally got to play it (bought it Friday... much e-mail correspondence between me and the manufacturer as well as the folks that put the security features on the CD) it has elements similar to the warcraft series (production) but the combat is pure 40k, without rolling a handfull of dice. Just came up for air after spending 2 hours in the tutorial (hey, I like to explore all the options).
Can't wait to try this online, but I'll do the campaign first, just so I don't die real quick... like I do every frikken tabletop game of 40k I've played...
Hope they put out an expansion with the tyranids, dark eldar and imperial guard... (any rumors Grim? wink wink, nudge nudge)
God, I think I just elevated myself to uber-geek status....

Hey Bro, I have It, Just finished the Campaign the other day, Let me know when you want to Play online, and I'll Bring Space Marines to you.
Unless you like the Marines, in which case, I'll bring the Orcs, Chaos, Eldar, etc.

Armies I had on table top and that I feel best with:
Chaos (Iron Warriors :woot:)
Orks
Dark Eldar
UltraMarines (moved and had no opponents before I finished that one)
I shudder to think how much money I spent on all those, but the hours of enjoyment painting, modifying and creating battle groups was worth it I think...
Well, it kept me out of the bar for a few nights anyway...

I have it as well. I must say I really enjoy it. Just started the campaign. Im at the point now where Im going too find the Chaos Marines.

I've been playing for about a week, and I have to say the Eldar are one bada$$ army if you put the effort into them. A couple of my friends in my dorm have it so we usually go 3v3 against the hardest AI's (trust me, its difficult) and have a blast doing it. Something about being able to scream down the hall "COVER THE LEFT FLANK!" is pretty cool.

Yep. I've only played against the AI myself, But It would be fun to team up. Heh, I just hope It doesn't become as addictive as Starcraft was years back.

well just in the skirmish, like every other (most at least) RTS games you can assign teams, just assign yourself the same team as your friend.

I thought i should post some helpfull stuff,..
Especially after playing the campaign you eventually obtained some bad habbits.
To show what i mean here are 3 replays that are a must to watch.

put them in the replays folder ,then in game select skirmish ,.. load recorded games,.. select name and watch.
If you dont you will have some very unpleasant experiences playing online.;)

Wow, this game is AWESOME. Just tried it out and I'm hooked currently. Are there any mods out there that put in new races such as Tyranids or such? Thus far this is a GREAT game! I can't believe it's not selling better or doing better, as this is one of the best RTS games since Empire Earth IMO!
