Title: Lighting Experiment
Post by: Sandman3D on October 11, 2004, 12:45:45 am
Well, trying some stuff in max with lighting, thought this looked pretty good, but was wondering if the light should be hitting the ship as well? Anyway, let me know what you think...

firstly open up the image in ps or psp and make it darker.... then when you go to render it, it wont look like a model floating infront of a poster, next what I did was to follow the lighting tutorials within max.... you can use low level omni lights on the ship to light her up a bit, then I would have a distant omni light in the general direction of the sun also.... If you know how you can then edit this omni light to make it look like a sun with lens effects... all can be found in the tutorials... But all in all I like it... U make it darker and it will replace your last effort on my desktop ;)

3 point lighting is godly.

a key light which is either center or a little of to the side.
A fill light which is about 30 degrees the opposite direction of the key
and a back light
