I was wondering if someone has access to the Oxford English Dictionary.
I can't seem to access the online edition, and I need an up to date version (give or take a few years)
The reason for this is that I need the current dictionary term for "Neanderthal"...Why? Well If the term is good then I will use it for the opening of an Anthropology essay question, on Neanderthal man. It is an essay which I need to complete by monday for my Archaeology degree. I have no access to my uni library for a few days either ( bike trouble).
Any help you guys could give would be brilliant.
Thanks all.

Hmm. OEDonline seems down to me also. However, the Compact Version shows this.
Neanderthal
/niandrtaal/
? noun 1 (also Neanderthal man) an extinct human living in ice age Europe between c.120,000-35,000 years ago. 2 informal an uncivilized or uncouth man.
? ORIGIN from Neanderthal, a region in Germany where remains of Neanderthal man were found.
