Title: Steelers 34 Patriots 20
Post by: Capt_Bearslayer_XC on October 31, 2004, 06:32:57 pm
Can we say, 'Pimp slapped'? ;D

That is what the Steelers did to the Patriots.

Held the Patriots to -1 yards rushing thru 3+ quarters.

The streak ends at 22.....

hardly.

Patriots gave up 221 yards rushing.

Steelers gave up FIVE rushing yards.

Time of Possesion, Pittsburgh 42:58

Turnovers:  Pats 4, Steelers 0

How many times was Ben sacked?

That would be a big fat ZERO.

Brady looked like the rookie out there. Picked off twice... sacked 4 times.... a few more times he was hit hard.

No, Pittsburgh has shown they can be beaten.

I expected an 11-5 record out of the Pats now.

I look forward to the Steelers playing (and hopefully losing to) the Eagles next week.

;D

We will see... we will see.....

If they play Philly like they played NE, Eagles are going down.

So what are you trying to say, that the Steelers suck so the Pats must suck worse?  :skeptic:

The Steelers are rockin' this year. Cowher has gotten back to playing power-football, which has always been his strong suit. He's got a damned fine QB in Rothlisburger. That young man reminds of another Steelers QB from about 2 decades ago....
His receiver core ain't bad, and he has two very good running backs.

The Steelers will make the playoffs this year, and maybe more.

My towel is getting ragged.....

Shall I re-word this for you?

Pittsburgh has shown the the league that the Patriots can be beaten.

Expect the Rams to run rough shod over them.  Will the Pats give up 200+ yards two weeks in a row?

Well, six weeks ago the Ravens kicked the Steeler's butt so that must mean that Baltimore is better than the Pittsburg.  But wait, Pittsburg has a better record!  How can that be?  Unless...on any given Sunday...

In any case celebrate now because there's another streak which will have to be broken before Pittsburg gets to the Super Bowl: Tom Brady has never lost a postseason game.

Muhahahahahaha!!!

Just because a team loses doesn't mean its the end of the world.

Well, six weeks ago the Ravens kicked the Steeler's butt so that must mean that Baltimore is better than the PittsburgH. But wait, PittsburgH has a better record! How can that be? Unless...on any given Sunday...

In any case celebrate now because there's another streak which will have to be broken before PittsburgH gets to the Super Bowl: Tom Brady has never lost a postseason game.

Six weeks ago, Roethlisberger was one interception away from WINNING that game.    Expect a much different result on the rematch.

I think the best thing that happened to PittsburgH is that Maddox went down.  He has not been the same QB since the blast he took from the Tennesse defense that left him paralyzed for a bit.  (And I don't blame him a bit)

Problem with Brady's post season win streak is... The pats have to MAKE the playoffs. ;)

If their defense is that suspect to the run.... say good night, sweet prince.

Brady can't score when the other team is grinding out time consuming run heavy drives.

The only reason the run was that destructive is because of Bettis. He was on fire. No defense in the world was going to stop him. Sometimes thats just how it is. Ask the Cardinals.

Pats needed to lose sometime.

And the way they played that one, they deserved the "L".

Brady had an off week, gave the ball away twice, and the rest of the team (read defense) did not step up to lift the man having an off day...

And the Pats are currently down not only a large portion of their receiving corps, but also their star running back & now a chunk (Ty Law) of their defense.  Give the Pats back one or 2 stars and the game could have played a lot differently.

Let's see if the Pats can handle adversity now like they did last year (when they started this streak...) :D

The NFL is WAY to even these days, the term any given sunday holds a very literal meaning this year.  Just look at the Falcons vs. Cheifs and Broncos respecively the last two weeks, then compare the Denver/KC meeting earlyer this season.

LOL... remember Bettis's 30 yard run?

He turned in and ran over a defensive back of the NE Patriots. Apparently, that guy said something to the Pittsburgh media about Bettis being a 'joke' anymore.....

When asked, Bettis said he saw him and wanted to say, 'Hi!'

Also, Vrabel (former Steeler) came over and did some BS during warm ups that included pushing 'big ben' to the ground.

That sort of had the Steelers ticked off.

Bad move, IMO.

Pittsburgh's defense had a LOT to do with making Brady look like a rookie.

And the defense wasn't missing much from the front 7.  They still gave up 221 yards of rushing.

Just be thankful the Steelers have class or the final score would have been 41 to 20.
